Chrono Trigger question
I remember playing chrono trigger on da zsnes emulator on the computer and there were parts, in the game, where the screen was screwed up and you had to press lyk 1 , 2 or 3 to get the picture to show. I'm wondering if this problem occurs in dreamsnes and if so, is there any way to fix it?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Chrono Trigger question
I believe you're describing a transparency issue. Years ago, the SNES emulators did not properly render transparent layers, so clouds of smoke (for example) would appear as solid objects, obscuring the player's view of the character. This was also a problem with early portions of Final Fantasy IV and V, but this was fixed years ago.kznewb wrote:I remember playing chrono trigger on da zsnes emulator on the computer and there were parts, in the game, where the screen was screwed up and you had to press lyk 1 , 2 or 3 to get the picture to show. Any modern version of ZSnes or Snes9x (which DreamSNES is based on) should not present the problems you describe.

One of my top five favorite rpgs for the snes. Nuff said. nearly everything about the game was perfect, and being a fan of the back to the future movies, I dug being able to sort of time travel in the game.
I gotta be honest, though. I've never emulated the game on my dc, but have instead emulated it on my xbox.
I haven't played it on DSNES in a long while now, but the last time I did play it, I was able to play it through.GyroVorbis wrote:Out of curiosity, how does Chrono Trigger run on DSNES?
Some things to note:
Sounds for certain techs/magic are off [Luminate comes to mind]
The bike scene was way more challanging.
Game runs ~30% slower then on my SNES [but still faster then that playstation version, uggh loadtimes!]
Perhaps I need to break out my DC, the DSNES disc that has CT on it, and my SNES/cart and play them side by side. But it was playable.
*EDIT - I guess after 4 years of lurking it was time that I made a post.
