ROM List
My rom list doesn't load properly. it only shows half the games, if at all. Does this have something to do with my ROM disc being multi-session? Is there anything I can do?

I'm still a newbie, so I'm not positive on this one. I just got my DC today anyway. Very cool!
Anyway, I believe it has to do with not having an mp3 file in the mp3 folder. Put one in there, or just a text file, renamed to an mp3, and you should be all set.
That leaves a question though. Can you put ANY mp3 in there?

I think the leading cause of this may be what somebody said on the forum before. Make sure your roms aren't named to long, if they are they probably will only show only one of the roms.
For example if you have all three donkey kong country games, and they are named like this
DonkeyKongCountry1.rom
DonkeyKongCountry2.rom
DonkeyKongCountry3.rom
(rom is just a generic exetension I made up for this)
DreamSNES most likely only seems to read either 8 by 3 character or 10 by 3 character file names. Example being.
DKCount1.rom
DKCount2.rom
DKCount3.rom
That is 8 by 3 filename format, where the first part of the filename is 8 letters or numbers or whatever, and the last three is the exetension name of the file such as smc or whatever.
An example of 10 by 3 would be this.
DKonCount1.rom
DKonCount2.rom
DKonCount3.rom
10 letters/numbers/whatever following the .smc or whatever the extension is.
So my theory is, that if DreamSNES gets a filename before another one, only one of those roms will show up. Like say DreamSNES saw DonkeyKongCountry1.smc before DonkeyKongCountry2.smc , this not letting it show DonkeyKongCountry2.smc because DreamSNES only reads the first 8 letters of the file name.
Reason why I say theory is that I haven't tried the newest DreamSNES out yet.
I hope this helps some what, please try it, I'm sure it'll work.

If you think typing 'make' is hard, forget coding.
If you can't figure out the commands to DC-Tool, forget coding.
If you think coding is as easy as typing printf("Hello World\n"); , shoot yourself.

Right. I'll try it out. I hope you can rename stuff on a multisession CD-R...
ok, it STILL doesn't work. although Megaman X works now (i had megaman X and megaman X 2)
EDIT: OH!!!!!!! It has to be the SOUND folder, not the SOUNDS folder like the FAQ says! d'oh!
well, it works now
Thanks to you people who tried to help.

The tip I pointed out also goes for saving your game, if you don't have them in that format, and you try to save your game on Megaman X but want to also do saves on megaman x2 but can't load it or whatever, thats the problem.
