An idea for the dreamSNES

Anything DreamSNES-related can be asked in this forum, such as general questions about the emulator, how to burn it, etc.

An idea for the dreamSNES

Post by loksenna » Mon Mar 25, 2002 10:17 pm

hey, i just want to say that the dreamSNES is awesome, thanks for putting this shit out, and i want to make a suggestion.

I was thinking there should be some kindof rumble feature in dreamSNES.
It could have an interface like the 3dprogram pad from interact where you can tell it in the options when a particular button (of the users choice) is pressed it will rumble. just a thought. later

Interesting idea, but I think the programmers might be better off concentrating on improving the speed and sound.

Yeah, I reckon that they should improve the speed before they try and do anything like that :D

Not a new idea. From the interview right here at DCEmulation:
DCEmulation.com: What is the Future of DreamSnes, what might be added to improve it.
Peter: I will have my Puru-Puru support. The original SNES didn't have one you say? Bah, one shouldn't be stopped by such trivialities.

It's the Japanese name for the DC rumble pack; I think the name is a reference to it "purring". BTW, SNES did have a light gun and mouse...

Urgh, the super scope was bloody awful. And as for mario paint - what the hell is the point of a console art program?
Sometimes I wonder how so many morons get employed by these companys...

The fly swatter game was badass, to begin. Pretty easy, but badass. Second, back then the computer image editing/movie making programs frankly SUCKED (for a beginer, I mean). The internet was barely getting started, so if you didn't buy the utils you didn't get em, and far fewer people had computers. They were also considered less appropriate by many parents for kids, back then. Something about them costing $3000+ was probably part of it.

So for arty kids, Mario Paint was a very rewarding outlet. The whole package was very cleanly made - it is still more user friendly then any animation/music/video package I've seen today. I made some damn cool stuff back on it when I was younger. I had Louie, Louie playing to a looping scene of the aliens from alien tossing and eating a mario over and over. 8) It was cool. The whole stamp system was great. Literally great.

These days the market for it is smaller, but for younger kids it would still be very rewarding.

haha sounds fun. I admit I never played it - after buying the awful 'Art Alive' on the genesis I was put off console art utils for life...
