I know they said they would hopefully be at full speed by 1.0, but are they near it yet?
I havent messed with dreamsnes since 9.4, so I havent really kept up-to-date with the changes.
DreamSNES 0.9.7 's speed?

You have DreamSNES 0.9.4?
That was the slowest version of DreamSNES released.
0.9.3 was faster(older than the version you have),
0.9.7. is much faster than 0.9.3,
0.9.6 is even faster than 0.9.7 and has 22kHz sound without popping, compared to the 11kHz WITH popping in 0.9.7,
But...there are several ASM core bugs in 0.9.6.
If you don't mind the bugs and need the fastest speed you can get,
BURN 0.9.6. NOW!
Set the sound to "Mono" or "Mute" and enjoy nearly 50% more speed than you had with 0.9.4.
And enjoy MUCH better display graphics than 0.9.4(the resolution of 0.9.4. in "Smooth" mode was the worst ever) and MUCH better sound than 0.9.3/0.9.4/0.9.7.
Until the next release,burn 0.9.6.
Just burn the Nero image without ROMs and make a separate ROM disc,so you can use the ROMs with the future releases.
