Windows CE

Post by dospro »

Hi. I have a doubt. In my dreamcast there is a sticker which says "Compatible with windows CE". Does this mean i can make windows CE programs using visual Studio 2005 and run them in dreamcat?
Or what exactly does it means this Windows CE thing in my dreamcast?
What can i do with it, what cant i do?
Check the BioGB emulator any help me get it much better!!

it meas Microsoft paid to have it put on. Well, accually, Microsoft helped make a second SDK of sort, in return they got a sticker put on. Their is the WinCE libs around but their illegal to use in homebrew.

Illegal, yes. Does MS care? That's hard to say. Last time I checked, they were still putting the foot down on MS-DOS 6.22 download locations. :o

Sticker? Every DC I've ever seen has it painted on.

Just to make sure this is said, you can't use Visual Studio .NET (200x) to use this... it was a customized version of WinCE that was specific to the DC. I think you had to use VS6 to make it work and it's not like the later CE versions.

It isn't. Also, developing with Windows CE on the Dreamcast is illegal unless you've obtained a license from Microsoft to do so. And I highly doubt that Microsoft would still sell licenses for it.

Anyway,
