Spring X360 BC update released

It will probably be officially released tomorrow.

You can manually install it from HERE.

The following games are claimed to now work:
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Phantom Dust
Spiderman 2
SFAC
King of Fighters Neowave
Mercenaries
JSRF
Breakdown
Soul Calibur 2
Murakamo

(NTSC version, obviously. Apparently the one game I really fucking want JSRF does not work on PAL)

JSRF feels kinda bleh compared to the original; taking out the gesture system in the spray painting removes a lot of the feeling of tactile connection. Also, the hub area in JSRF is kind of gawdy and off-putting.

Nice to see they're *finally* supporting Panzer Dragoon and SC2, though.

Out of curiosity: what happens if you put in a non-supported game? Does it check the title against the list and reject anything that hasn't been rubber-stamped, or do you just take your chances with the emulation on unsupported games?

JSR is effectively a racing game.

JSRF is effectively a platform game.

I love both of them tbh.

EDIT:

It says "This game is non supported" and shuts down.

God damn it! The only game I'm interested in is JSRF, but I have the JSRF/Sega GT disc which doesn't work. Guess I gotta go buy it again.

I cant believe phantom dust is finally BC!!!! I have been e-mailing M$ about this one and showing my support for BC. I knew we would get an update in april. M$ has been following the pattern of releasing titles every 4 months. Next one hopefully in august! having phantom dust and JSRF and panzer dragon will hold me over to the next one. There are some titles on there also that I want to go pick up.

Last games I need are:
Doom 3 ROE
Morrowind
Unreal Championship 1
Gun Val
Beyond good and evil
PSO
and an update to the halo 2 emulator and ill be a happy camper!!!

But yea you have no idea how happy I am to have phantom dust again!

I have one of those too, because JSRF was $5 and JSRF/GT was $2. Hooray for post-mortem console collecting

Where did you see it for $5? Everywhere I find it (locally, not "internetly") has been $10 and over.

Woah, those all came out today? I thought Nyar's post was it. In that case, I have Oddworld that I can play now, and I was wanting to get the Xbox version of THUG and sell my PS2 copy. I suppose that's pretty nice then.

However, I would still give my left nut to play PSO on 360. Morrowind as well, since now I've gotten into the series after playing Oblivion, I'd like to go back and try Morrowind again which I haven't played since I first bought.

yea, from my observation we have been getting around 30ish titles each update every 4 months. Thats not too bad honestly, everyone bitches but as long as they keep at it. Morrowind is my next target in e-mails. To show your support for BC and what titles you want you can e-mail at Backcomp@microsoft.com

PSO would also be neat to have, but sucky since you couldnt move your characters with memory cards to other consoles since the 360 cant access its memory cards in BC mode.

I got a stand alone copy of JSRF from ebgames.com almost 2 years ago for $3.50.
I had planned on getting an original X-box but they went up in price from $150 to $180.

I just bought a copy of PDO for $8 about a month ago.

I think I'll get a 360 during the holidays if it has a $50 price drop or more.

Are you sure it won't work with the new update? Prior to this update, the Sega GT game did work from this disc, but JSRF did not. Won't hurt to check before getting mad.

I checked this morning and I just checked again. Doesn't work. I just checked eBay for it and an auction for a USED copy of the game ended at $20. Not too much fun buying a game I already have.

im going to my local game store tommorow. i think i remember seeing it used for 5 bucks or so. if you dont care about a case and such i can pick it up for u and sell it to ya if you like?

Nah, as ridiculous as it sounds I'm VERY picky about the cases. But Thomas already offered to check a local CD store where he said he saw it for even cheaper than that. If he can't find it I'll just call around town seeing if I can find a used copy. Hastings has it with case and all, but it's $10, I really don't want to pay that much for a game I can go in my brother's room and play on his Xbox already.

Still waiting for Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Justice League Hero's. Friend has them and we had started into both of them when we got a 360. Neither of us have our normal Xbox so you know.
