Ninja Gaiden DS
EDIT: Now updated with extended game footage!

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned already...
It's entirely stylus-driven, which sounds weird, but IGN seems to like the way it's implemented. The system is held "book style," with the touchscreen being the action screen, and the lefthand screen providing story and misc. illustrations/info. And since it's Team Ninja, you know the graphics are top notch:

Re: Ninja Gaiden DS
I'm surprised Ninja Gaiden Sigma wasn't mentioned here...
Oh wait, I'm not surprised.

Pretty much sums my opinion up right there. My hands are just too big to try and use that touchscreen for much of anything other then to open a map or change a camera angle.Lartrak wrote:This'll probably stink.
At the least, I won't like it. Fast-paced action based games that are entirely stylus = Failure to me.
Nice to see a game that actually uses the DS hardware (as in power of course not touch screen).
If is anything like the first few Ninja Gaiden games its probably harder then hell.

Really? Where did you hear that? It comes a baseball announcer and the orientation of a field he announced from, if memory serves.DaMadFiddler wrote:Interesting...I always thought that term was considered a slur.Covar wrote:as long as they have a southpaw option i'll give it a shot. however i cannot write anything with my right hand, let alone use a stylus.
It might help you a bit if you got a full pen-sized stylus. I've been meaning to buy one for quite a while. The only stylus-based game I've liked much thus far has been Touch! Kirby. My hands are just too big to try and use that touchscreen for much of anything other then to open a map or change a camera angle.

They traditionally tend to choose the system with the most powerful hardware, but in this case, they said they chose the DS over the PSP because they were absolutely hooked on the concept of touchscreen control.RMD wrote:Way to go for choosing the absolutly wrong platform to port Ninja Gaiden to Team Ninja.
