Rare goes XBLA
Microsoft has relied heavily on third parties to deliver content for the Xbox Live Arcade. This year, that is going to change thanks to Rare. Rare has a massive backlog of hit games and characters that are dying to make their way to a new generation of fans. Look for games like Battletoads, R.C. Pro-Am, Perfect Dark and Blast Corps to get the XBLA classic games treatment. We'll also see the announcement of an all new side-scroller and/or adventure game from Rare exclusively for the Xbox Live Arcade.
Oh, and Goldeneye is never going to come to the XBLA. There are too many licensing issues to get around on this one.

Take this with a grain of salt though as Rare hasent announced anything themselves. I don't expect to see any of this any time soon. Sucks about Goldeneye, but I would still LOVE to see Perfect Dark in all its glory online.

xbla has gone a bit downhill for a bit. I like everyone else am Dieing for worms HD which has been pushed a lot. I want more games that are kinda a spin on an old idea. Orinigal games that are based on an old idea like Marble Blast Ultra and Heavy weapon. I just dont care for paperboy and rootbear tapper thrown my way. They have a lot of great games, but games I can play on my NES are not one I care to have. I loved how Xbox live arcade was on the orinigal xbox as they were all "new" games with an arcade feel.

Just because it has great nostalgic value and it *was* the best console shooter (back when there was nearly no competition) does not mean that it is now.
Has anyone played Goldeneye lately? It hasn't aged well at all.

Yes, and after I configured the controls in PJ64 to operate more closely to a modern game's control, it was a lot of fun.atf487 wrote:Exactly.MulletMan13 wrote:Personally I hardly think that PD has aged as well as some of you are thinking.

Perfect Dark had 'dual analogue' controls using two N64 controllers didn't it? GoldenEye too.
Would be pretty easy to set that as the 'default' control scheme given controllers nowadays have dual analogues built into them as standard I'd have thought.
EDIT: Although if it was an XBLA title, I'd expect - at the very least - redone textures and models to a standard appropriate to this century in HD.
Also stupidly hard achievements for tiny reward.
