What is YOUR favorite controller?

Post by Hawke »

Personally, I like the Dreamcast one the best - lol
PS2 comes in second, with SNES in 3rd.

I loathe the origional Xbox controller. That thing was a monstrocity.

Original xbox controller here. I've got huge hands and it fits perfectly. I really like the 360 controller though. my hand tends to cramp on smaller controllers. I can't play ps2 or gamecube for more than an hour before my hand gets pain.

Dreamcast generally. Dpad is lame. If the Dpad were to get fixed, and another analog stuck on, it would own all.

For 2D I'd say Saturn or SNES, though.

Wii.

OK, out of the controllers I've actually held, probably the smaller Xbox controller, or the N64's.

360 and Gamecube. I have relatively small hands so the original Xbox controller I found uncomfortable, and the small one sucked even more because of the weird placing of the black and white buttons.

The Cube's controller fits my hands nicely, though I have to say I don't like what they did with the four face buttons. One thing I have to say is that that controller was the first one where I was able to play a fighter (SC2) with the analog stick, it is THAT good :)

The DC controller has its flaws, but it will do. First of all the triggers make my fingers hurt when I play a racing game for longer periods. Secondly, the shape of the DC is just wrong. The points where you grab it should be bent outwards rather than inwards because now when you grab it tightly my hands will cramp up.

The PS2 controller is just a basic ten buck pos in terms of design, nothing special, but decent. I hate the fact you can press harder for more effect, and also the analog pads suck big time. Either you'll slip off, and it is very hard to be precise with those things. Never been a fan of their dpad either.

(I have this one... too bad my Genesis is not working)

Arcade-style controllers are always nice. Other than that, I liked the SNES and Dreamcast controllers the best.

360, SNES

I used to think N64 was the best, but the dual analog setups of today kind of made it obsolete. I find myself dying for a second stick while playing Goldeneye or some other 3D affair. Still comfortable though.
Very sexy hero, omg
