Xbox Emulation
Yes, yes, I have turned to the darkside; I ordered a Mircosoft XBOX modchip on Monday. The modchip I purchased was Xenium ICE, I have heard good things about it from a buddy of mine. The question(s) I have about Mircosoft XBOX emulation are, what are some of the best emulators out for Mircosoft XBOX? I heard for SNES, Xsnes9X was the best out. I just want to get some expert oppinions on some emulators. Here are the questions I have...
What is the best NES emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
What is the best N64 emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
What is the best SNES emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
What is the best MAME emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
What is the best PlayStation emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
What is the best Doom emulator on the Mircosoft XBOX?
and any other good emulators for other systems you can think of would be great!

There is, but last time I looked at it not a lot happened. You can run the power.xbe (turns it off) and reset.xbe (resets the emulator). That's about it iirc.Any XBOX emulators for PC currently available?
Ah crap, the name escapes me right now. But it's 3 emulators chucked into one. So you have your choice of which you wanna use: PJ64, 1964, UltraHLE (I think). Runs a few games pretty good. There are some that are still playable, although somewhat crappy. What is the best N64 emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
I hear good things about BenderMAMEWhat is the best MAME emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
AFAIK there's only one. What is the best PlayStation emulator for the Mircosoft XBOX?
http://www.xbox-scene.com then go to the software -> emulators section.

What exactly would a "dash replacement" for the XBOX be?Ravishing Roofus wrote:NES - FCEUltra
SNES - XSNES9X
I don't know about the others. I'll jump in and say I'm interested in the MAME and Doom emulators though.
I'll also add that for a dash replacement, you can't do better than Xbox Media Center with Evo-X as a backup.

Yes, I don't use the XXX versions as I've found the earlier releases more stable. The XXXbeta broke a lot of games.SurrealXXX ? Is that N64 emu you're talking about? What a piece of chaotic code mess
The xbox dashboard is what comes up when you turn on your Xbox. All the crap to set time, date, memory manager, audio ripper, etc. What exactly would a "dash replacement" for the XBOX be?
There are other alternative dashboards out there that offer much better options than just those given by the MS dashboard. XBMC, as roofus pointed out, is program that turns your xbox into a multimedia centre. It handles lots of different media types, videos, pics, audio, etc. It really is a neat dashboard. Although my dashboard of choice is Avalaunch, XBMC would be 2nd on my list of most recommended apps/dashboards for Xbox.

Surreal64 xxx isnt too bad for most of the games I use but it has broken support for a few games, also Blast Corps is almost uncontrollable in parts due to a controller issue where the analog stick if pushed all the way is read randomly & makes you spin on the spot, go backwards etc.. (thats in all versions atm)
For arcade stuff I use Mame0X myself & its great, tried bendermame once or twice didnt see much differance really.
PCSXbox is the name of the PSX one I think, runs Castlevania great, spent a good few months with that game on my hd.
The Doom port now has a few Legacy Doom type features so is well worth getting, just have the wads ready to throw into the right dirs, it works with Doom mods very well as well, the one release covers all Doms now rather than in the old days when it only supported 1 wad at a time
