I know nothing about Quake, but if you could tell me a few so I can get'em and test in the new nxMakaqu it'd be great

There's also Prydon Gate. I got the last version at QuakeExpo and will test it when possible.

Yeah, that's outdated; Envenom is dead. After TAoV I have a better project.Fragger wrote:There's also Prydon Gate. I got the last version at QuakeExpo and will test it when possible.

Nekketsu Quake Volley Ball Rumble v0.9 (plays just like Quake)
SkyBlazer 0.5 (seems to require keyboard)
Slide 1.1 (plays just like Quake)
Street Fighter 2 Quake 1 (seems to require keyboard)
*seem to be* Not Working

I'll add to the list:
TAoV: loads and menus work, but hits a caching error as soon as gameplay starts. Same result with nxMakaqu 1.1 and 1.2.
Lunkin's Journey: loads and seems to be working, but no display. Extreme closeup of a texture during introductory dialogue, then blank screen (with sounds and music) once actual gameplay starts.
I also tried Envenom and Prydon Gate, which were both successful. I'd never realized how high-quality these were before . The control schemes aren't really ideal in either, but the amount of polish on both of them is just phenominal, considering the conditions of their creation. Makes me wish Dreamcast Quake ran decently at higher resolutions, so they could really show off.

Turn off music before loading a map in TAoV and post the result please? Music isn't loaded when it's turned off in the options menu; this saves a huge chunk of RAM. The next version is optimized by 700k also so I'm hoping it'll work.
Another thing you guys can do, turn developer 1 on in console before loading a map and seeing what file it crashes on - this is a very nice feature of nxMakaqu allowing us to see which file specifically causes crashes!
Nekketsu Quake Volley Ball Rumble v0.9 is a Quakeworld mod and will not work on NxMakaqu and also REQUIRES real people to play with.
Street Fighter 2 Quake 1 does indeed need a keyboard, unless I went back and added a "Change weapon" function, perhaps you can map it to the DC controller yourself and the mod will work!
Also Prydon Demo 1.3 is old, 1.5 is out from the latest QExpo.

For reference:
- I'm using the TAoV menus for all of these steps. At no point am I accessing the Quake menu or the console.
- Once I get the menu, I go to Options and disable the music (message: "Music OFF").
- I go back to the main menu, and hit Start Game.
- The game loads.
- The game displays for approximately one frame (Vigil seems to be in a falling or lunging position), then the aforementioned caching error comes up.
Also, I don't have a Dreamcast keyboard, so I can't use the console. The onscreen console keyboard doesn't seem to display unless I'm playing default Quake.
Additionally, when TAoV is first booting up, there's a whole string of "unknown command" messages that flash up too fast for me to read. The last several of them appear to be joystick definitions (though the DC pad works fine for manipulating the TAoV menu).

Thanks DaMadFiddler, that doesn't sound promising though ... can you try loading other maps? Castle2, tower, village? just type "map castle2" in console for example. I don't have my Dreamcast hooked up at the moment (Xbox at the moment, unmodded :<) so I can't test (I'm also out of CDRs).
I already plan a DC-specific version but it'll have a lot of cuts in the sound/graphic/effects department sadly.

So, all this Quakeworld mods don't work on nxMakaqu?Nekketsu Quake Volley Ball Rumble v0.9 is a Quakeworld mod and will not work on NxMakaqu and also REQUIRES real people to play with.
That's what I found here. Thought it was the official site. Google just said there is a 1.5, so now I knowAlso Prydon Demo 1.3 is old, 1.5 is out from the latest QExpo.

My download manager wouldn't lie to me
Yeah, it seems to be down as for now. I just uploaded it in case anyone wants it, but it's nothing extraordinary IMO.
