If you are serious about licensing information from Id, they will respond. Back in the days when I had some real money in the bank (~$10K), I had contacted Todd Hollenshead who was / is the business manager of Id concerning licensing content. I was contemplating an official Quake compilation / id software classics compilation.

A comercial id classics compilation for Dreamcast would be awesome :)

We got nxDoom, nxMakaqu and 138's pretty new (& perfect!) Wolfenstein 3D port. All that's missing would be the Quake III license and hardware acceleration in nxMakaqu :)

how to achieve new q3 engine games on dc

Post by reputetao »

Why not ask Raster for help. They've seen and used the dreamcast SDK. They're allowed to make Quake 3 engine games. They'd probably get it done quicker than anybody else.

Do any of you guys know anybody that was a part of the Quake 3 DC production team? They'd probably be the first one's to ask for help to make a feasable game for the DC with Id's distribution of the Q3 engine.

I wonder if sega is checking out the things that are still happening regarding the DC.

Anyways, best of luck guys :D

I'm still hoping someone finds a way to make this happen. I still offer my services for mapping :/
