Quake II Downsampling & Encoding

Post by Chili »

Just some questions to the Pro's...
I want to burn QII, but with Sound....
My idea was to downsample all the wav files in the pak-file.
And after that is done i convert all the wav files into adx files.
Adx files are much smaller an they are dc Format...i think :?:
Then i copy my modified files back into the QII pak file an burn it as usual...
My question:
Does this method work? i hope so...

I'm fairly sure it won't.

It would, if Quake 2 allowed it.

I'm quite sure that Quake 2 can be made to run with sound, and working properly, but it'd need a lot of work. You'd have to downsample some things, and re-write a lot of Quake 2's code. I might give that another go one day.
