Ok remember when Half life was supposed to be ported to Dreamcast? Well we may not ever get that enhanced version of halflife, but if someone were to simply port the original versions, we could enjoy all the mods that halflife has to offer, most importantly CounterStrike, a game that is still enjoyed by thousands across college LAN's and networks around the world.

Even if we did, I doubt that we could ever get it to run on a Dreamcast. And certainly not with Counterstrike, which is a closed source mod and requires a lot more RAM than the DC has.

Counter strike handles damage poorly. I don't like it.
I see people jumping and strafing and killing me in a second I strafe and concentrate fire and end up only damaging them for 4? What the hell,

Personally, I don't like CounterStrike. It's not very interesting, it's weapons system is not fun (tries too hard to be too realistic, doesn't make any sense), and it's just not as fun to play as a lot of other games. And, of course, you tend to have people who play nothing but CounterStrike pushing people who either have a life or who play other games out of the game. And everyone tries to play like they're playing Quake 3, which is hardly right for a realistic counter-terrorism game, is it?

The mods I am talking about is the ones that are cheats bascially. The ones that give you a extra shield, or a bigger gun, etc etc. Add on levels are good, actually there great. That is 1 of the 2 reasons I prefer FPS games on PC and not console. Other reason is I like the WASD/Mouse for a controller.

Yes all true, but it's flawed logic to suggest that popularity equals quality; look at what's the best selling concole between dc, ps2, xbox and gamecube ...

But as you rightly said, at the end of the day it's all just opinions, and mine is that the best half-life mod is the sdk of half-life rally, and the best online fps was dc quake3arena in it's first few months 'cos I could actual win at it

The best mod of all time is Raptors 2, well what I've got on paper anyway, whether or not it'lla ctually be as good is very unlikely.

Anyway, back to tiger woods pga tour 2003 ..... and happy christmas!

I'd play it, but NOT as it is now. I'd of played it if it had been, say, beta 7 or earlier. I loved CS back then, it went way downhill from 7.1 on. They reduced accuracy and damage A LOT in 7.1, and then WAY increased slowdown from bullet hits. They deliberately ruined CS to appeal to inexperienced and less skilled players. Try playing beta 6.6 sometime - the accuracy model is MUCH more predictable and less ridiculous, the hitboxes aren't buggy and the models are MUCH better (player models) and also hurt your FPS less. There were also less headshots, and the rifles did NOT dominate - they were simply different from other guns, better at range, worse up close.

I try to get people to play beta 6.6 at LAN parties, but never have any luck.

I was thinking smeone might be able to make a program, simular to Bleemcast!, to allow Dreamcast to run Half-Life off of a CD.
