Re: Smith-Cotton High - "Science is Religion".
The only problem, evolution is not a religion, evolution makes no religious claim. Evolution is a scientific theory, on par with the theory of gravity. Evolution is, for all intents and purposes, fact. That someone can say that shows they're as brainwashed as their opposition. There's a reason it's...

Re: trouble getting kallistios to work
What version of the compiler are you using? From what I've seen, lot's of devs are using custom compiled versions of gcc 4.x. There is a thread on that on the sf mailing list. That's pretty much what I did. The only thing I can't get working (so far) is the BBA (which I have, so I'm pretty disappoin...

I'm working on the Neo Myth at the moment. AvP is after that. Sorry, but you'll have to be patient.

People only use Windows when they HAVE to, or don't know any better. Don't tell me why I use what I use. I use Windows because I prefer it to everything else I've ever used, including Mac OS. I'm not going to sit here AGAIN and start giving evidence to support my opinion, but I am really tired of t...

Re: Arctic Icecap to Dissapear in 20-30 years
Now YOU'RE the one making the personal attack - claiming I attack anyone who doesn't agree with me 100%. That's a load, and you only made the statement in an attempt to make yourself look better by making me look worse. I don't think gyroscopic generators are in the future - I only linked that guys ...

Re: Girl raped; Onlookers do nothing.
I'd consider this more of a citizen's duty, resulting in the proper liabilities. Yes, you aren't requiring people to actually step in and try to stop a crime, merely attempt to summon the proper authorities who's job it is to do so. Even if it's not the law, it's at least common sense. Why do you c...

Re: Secret Service strained to protect Obama.
Actually, with 9-11 and paranoia, "death threats" has a much different meaning now than ten years ago. I'd bet anything that 99% of the "death threats" sent to Obama would have just been called "angry letters" a decade ago. People have gotten so paranoid lately that we ...

Re: Arctic Icecap to Dissapear in 20-30 years
This is totally why google isn't a reliable source of information 'as-is'. One of your resources was a webcomic, one another forum post like this, and the other two were basically 'hey, here's what I think about it'. Hell, wikipedia's article on the subject probably at least links to some source ma...

Re: Arctic Icecap to Dissapear in 20-30 years
Second, any angular momentum taken from the Earth by tidal generators will be minuscule compared the total. This would be an issue a BILLION years from now. Where are the numbers? Serious question; I want to know what the assumptions are that make the number a billion years. That's what I'm talking...

People only use Windows when they HAVE to, or don't know any better. The most common thing you hear from Windows users is "I'd use something else, but I need to run <insert game or app here>, which is only available for Windows." As long as what you run isn't Windows only, people who know ...

Re: Arctic Icecap to Dissapear in 20-30 years
Personally, I think most countries should be putting more into tidal generators. It's free energy! Well, as long as the moon is still around it's free. There are ecosystem impacts with tidal power, and IIRC the energy is extracted from the angular momentum of the Earth. That doesn't mean it'...

@spinsky - Nothing yet... been busy this last week on some code for the Neo Myth (MD flash cart). @U-said-it - Well, according to the various articles I found via google, most XP users can get it to work. I wasn't able to, but it didn't really matter to me as I don't really care to play it in Window...

Being an intelligent race is just that: a race... to see if you can develop fast enough to get off the planet before a) it's ruined by development, b) erased back to bacteria by a huge fucking asteroid, or c) completely sterilized by a nearby gamma burst. Planets are great places for life to start, ...
