Thus far, the only roms I've burnt are SMBWorld hacks. And I do own SMBW. As far as other roms, I do have a number that I don't own, but those are only ones that I just haven't been able to find anywhere, like Earthbound. And I don't think there's /anything/ wrong with, say, getting the Radical Drea...

ehh, you're one to talk. ;) I was a staunch linux user (fanboy?) for several years (never run any windows > 3.1) 'till OS X came out. Then I defected.

Still got my trusty slackware box up there, though. (it just doesn't have a monitor)

libFoundation

I'm in the midst of porting libFoundation to the dreamcast/KOS. It's causing me hell, but I'm sparing no expense in mangling things, and I've gotten this far: it does build; that is, I have libFoundation.a Unfortunately, it does this producing a /whole lot/ of warnings; I've gotten rid of most of th...

Don't knock Seventh Cross!

It's not for everyone; hell, it may not be for many people, but if you manage to get into it, it's worth it if just for the fact that it's very, very, different.

no, there's another way - go to http://developer.apple.com/membership/online.html you do have to register, but you can register for a FREE online ADC account. Once you do that, you can log in and download the Developer Tools. Actually, scratch that - they've started calling it "XCode Tools"...

Huhh.. Again, I don't have toast, so I can't help you there. In the meantime: you have Panther, so you should have gotten the Developer Tools on CD. It's the last CD, the only white one. Install that (You'll get XCode, too). make and gcc and everything else fink might want will be on there. Once tha...

hmm? What do you mean? Granted, I'm still new to this, but I've burnt 2 DC demos using this method, and both CDs work. it's mkisofs 1.15a39 (powerpc-apple-macosx7.2.0) if that changes anything... Just to make sure we're on the same page, from elf to dreamcast it's: sh-elf-objcopy -O binary foo.elf f...

hunh... Huhh... This was the /last/ place I thought you'd run into trouble. Am I reading that right - that it's running into trouble running "make"? I have an idea... Go to the terminal, and just type "make" - what happens? You should get make: *** No targets specified and no mak...

It depends on what you're burning... Okay, looking at I.M. Weasel's tutorial, you've got the IP.BIN && 1ST_READ.BIN already. Oh, I recommend telling your mac to ignore blank CDs - go into System Preferences, CDs & DVDs, and select "Ignore". If at any point the computer mounts t...

cool. Ugh. I ended up getting around the problem by moving backwards in version - I'm using the precompiled toolchains posted earlier on in this forum, now. Maybe I can switch back, now, so all that hard work (using the most recent versions of all the tools) won't be for naught. That's for another t...

Okay. One would think that everything should work now. Got the compilers built and installed; got kallistios built, and am trying out the examples. Now, the makefiles there do funny things, but I managed to compile one of the examples (2ndmix) by hand. what happens is this: I want to test it, and do...

I've burnt a self-booting CD under OS X without any problems - but from the terminal, not Toast. (I don't have Toast, so I can't help you there)...

If it would be any help to you, I'll try & go through the steps again, & post them here.

cool, I'm gonna try that out, after I get this whole arm_elf thing worked out (seems the build failed last time I tried; not sure why). the kallistios build failed b/c I was reusing my old environ-dc script; I forgot to add KOS_MAC="true" in there. But then I get an error about the arm-elf...

anyone tried to get sh-elf-gcc to do objective C yet? I've somehow gotten sh-elf-gcc and sh-elf-g++ and stuff built, but I haven't gotten as far as being able to test them, yet. (ahh, using gcc-3.3.2, binutils 2.14, and newlib 1.9.0) I've also been trying to compile kos-1.2.0... Though, the jpeglib ...
