Re: So I played my Dreamcast today...

Go play some Playstation 1. I remember when Wipeout was the most amazingly fantastic thing ever created. PS1 is absolutely disgusting. Fond memories make 2xtreme, THPS, and Crash playable, but the graphics make me want to kill myself. Played Mario 64 though, and I have to say even though it is simp...

Re: I think linux might have "broken through" with ubuntu

I've had a few sour experiences with linux. Installing certain video cards can be a complete bitch-- even with ATI tools. Frustrating things get super frustrating in Linux, whereas in Windows you can typically guess/find the problem. In Linux you get something that is gibberish (to the average user)...

Re: Should I keep or sell Pikmin 2?

I'm getting closer and closer to getting out of debt, so every little bit helps. I put it up on Amazon's Marketplace and if it sells, it sells. But yes, this is a great game. I loved the first one and was extremely happy with the 2nd.

Re: So I played my Dreamcast today...

The College Football game was made my the same people that made NFL2k-- they made NFL and College games that were largely the same. My controller board is a bit fubared, and to get my VMUs recognized I need to finagle it a little bit. I've been looking everywhere for Crazy Taxi, but I think it is ei...

So I played my Dreamcast today...

for the first time in 6 or 7 years. Damn. Those graphics have not aged nearly as well as I thought they would have. It may have been the games I was able to find, but my god. I played College Football 2k2, and once some time ago I thought it looked absolutely amazing, and that nothing could really g...

Pissed. HTPC box built around Boxee and was really looking forward to Hulu. Guess I'll have to explore better torrent options now :-\

Should I keep or sell Pikmin 2?

Been selling a lot of my last gen games, and I've come to discover this is somewhat of a rarity. I sold Ico a few weeks ago and got a crapload of money for that, and now I'm curious on whether the demand is going to go up with this game. I'm pretty sure they're going to port it to Wii (like they did...

Re: Stupid question regarding HDMI and optical audio out....

Ha! And I always wondered why my Blu Ray discs sounded like Stereo/Pro Logic. Turns out my TV can do what I was wanting-- however unless it's OTA 5.1 channels, it will only output stereo. Lame ass city. Upgrading my reciever is out of the question at this point. The PS3 is likely getting sold shortl...

Stupid question regarding HDMI and optical audio out....

I feel like an idiot asking this question, but here goes: As it currently stands, my receiver has a single Optical Audio input, no HDMI inputs, and several RCA inputs. My 360 audio is hooked up to the receiver via RCA jack, and my PS3 is hooked up to said receiver via Optical Audio. I'd love to hook...

The CPU is inline with other C2Ds of the same frequency. But I've also added a Radeon HD 3450 (for an additional $20)-- and all the reviews/writeups on it says it handles 1080p just fine.

Re: Building an HTPC on the cheap...

What operating system are you planning to run on this box? If you're going to run a 64-bit OS, and your motherboard can handle it, you really might want to load up on the RAM, as that (along with a good graphics card) is about the most important part of an HTPC. The more RAM, the less buffering and...

Re: Building an HTPC on the cheap...

You could buy an AppleTV and run Boxee on it. I thought about this before getting a PS3 (well, with XBMC in general; it was before Boxee was available), but the lack of an optical drive really killed the idea for me. I really prefer to own my media in hard copy to keep as an archival backup (and in...

Re: Building an HTPC on the cheap...

I have looked at Myth distros for the PS3-- and nearly everything is rubbish. I appreciate the effort they are putting towards it, but it is nearly useless in current form. Basically I could sell my PS3 since I don't use it-- and actually have a useable computer/media center.

Building an HTPC on the cheap...

Hey everyone, Ditching cable at the end of the month, and figured that I might as well build an HTPC to fix the situation. I'm trying to make this 'project' as cheap as possible (under $300), and here is what I have right now: http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/3543/htpcrt3.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...

Bought Army of Two.

Loving every second of it. Brought a mate over to play through it with, and the game does so many things right, it is unbelievable. Much better than the Gears' series was (co-op wise).
