Hmm...i think it is cause of people who burned games... I think this helped to kill it slightly . However, IMO the biggest problem was the lack of advertising. There were some excellent games on the console but nobody knew about them. In late 2000, ask any PSX fan who had little knowledge of DC &qu...

Right, people, be serious. This is my favorite console ever and it probably always will be, but it is DEAD. Sega are out of the hardware business (AT LEAST for now, and I'll bet they never return.) If another company wants to license the Dreamcast and redesign or re-release the hardware, this is pos...

DCGen Covers
I just dug out these covers I made for DCGen, and I'm still pretty pleased with them, which is unusual for something I made quite some time ago. I made these back in early November 2001 when DCGen wasn't yet released for the covers contest. NTSC Front: http://sdentforums.hypermart.net/storage/lyris/...

The reason Utopia won't boot the Smash Pack is because Utopia doesn't properly support PAL Dreamcasts. It tries to boot the game in the PAL DC's default frequency (50hz) which the Smash Pack is incompatible with. I've always used the DC-X and had no problems. If you want to find it in the UK: http:/...

In color? Wow  J/K, that's not bad for such an old TV. Personally I wouldn't waste your money on something that'll step the signal down to 50hz. It looks pretty crap if it's been stepped down 'on the fly'. It really is worth you buying a new TV if you ask me, or you could perhaps have it modif...

You can use a DC-X boot disc to force some PAL games to PAL60. Start the disc and press START and A together when it asks you to swap CDs. Then insert your 50hz game and a menu will appear with the options: Cable Type: VGA/RCA/RGB Format: NTSC/PAL Select NTSC, it is labelled wrong, it will give you ...

Most burning programs can write VideoCD. Nero is what I use and if you haven't made them already, you can create AVIs into VCD (MPEG1) format directly with this. The quality's a little blurry tho, so I'd advise you to use a different program to convert the files then burn them.

Ooooh small world... I'm from Scotland too...anyway, my Dreamcast seems to be OK apart from the fact that it doesn't boot my DC-X boot disc properly sometimes AND VideoCD and DivX playback seem to be scrambled... hmmm... I guess it's not under warranty any more is it? If worst comes to worst talk to...
