Well, the features that i agree more are the frameskip and the ability to turn the rom sound off, witch would help speed the emulation.

You can already choose Mono, Stereo or Mute in the sound options.

The reason Utopia won't boot the Smash Pack is because Utopia doesn't properly support PAL Dreamcasts. It tries to boot the game in the PAL DC's default frequency (50hz) which the Smash Pack is incompatible with. I've always used the DC-X and had no problems. Most burning programs can write VideoCD. Nero is what I use and if you haven't made them already, you can create AVIs into VCD (MPEG1) format directly with this. The quality's a little blurry tho, so I'd advise you to use a different program to convert the files then burn them.

Useful indeed. Previously to take screen captures I've needed to use a US Gameshark to boot the games in NTSC and select that as a format - I can't believe how bad it looks compared to PAL60 - anyway, I knew of Dscaler already but for me the screen captures are garbled... Ah well.
