Re: Does the wii u require the gamepad.
What BlueCrab said. I'd also point out that you need the GamePad to make purchases from the eShop, and some games require it either for gameplay or to get through the menus. It's also very useful to have even if it wasn't necessary, as it allows you to play Wii/Wii U games offscreen if a family memb...

A Wii U Super Mario 3D World (Preinstalled on the Wii U) Nintendo Land (Preinstalled on the Wii U) Super Mario Maker Splatoon Best decision you've made all year ;) The year is still young. That's the point. And if you want to continue the trend, get Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, and Donkey Kon...

Ended up settling on Bowser's Inside Story, which has been on the shelf for a while but I never got around to playing. I think I'm currently about halfway through.

These have both been on my playlist a lot recently. And in both cases, the entire album is stellar:

Re: now playing....
Maybe I'll do something else first, then. Just finished Rayman Legends, and I can't remember the last time I saw a 2D platformer this polished from anyone other than Nintendo. If LBP is as problematic as you say (and it hasn't been fixed in subsequent patches), that'd especially stand out right afte...

Beat Rayman Legends in abou 2 days and currently working on unlocking everything. Also been playing Crypt of the NecroDancer again.
Next game will either be Mario Maker or Little Big Planet 3.

Got Rayman Legends and Mario Maker for Christmas. Also, Eva stopped at GameStop while we were grocery stopping, because they were having a B2G1 sale, and came out with (for herself) Rune Factory, Shadows of Mordor, and (for me) inFamous: Second Son. Currently about a third of the way through Rayman,...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII discussion [SPOILERS]
I would like to add that the film sits better a second time. I found myself more accepting, less critical, watching it again. The same problems were still there, but I think maybe Star Wars just doesn't work as well when it's new; there has to be a degree of familiarity.

It's fun, but Thousand Year Door is better and more polished. The series seems to hit diminishing returns after that.Matisfaction wrote:Picked up Paper Mario (N64), never played it before, been on it solid for the last two days.

Star Wars Episode VII discussion [SPOILERS]
Okay, so first, here are my thoughts on The Force Awakens: I enjoyed the film, but my overall opinion is a little mixed. It was way better than the prequels, in large part because the characters were actually interesting and likeable. However it also felt a little like the new Star Trek movies, and ...

Re: Games Games Games
I think people need to realise that (western) 3rd party support has gone, it isn't likely to come back and there's not really much that Nintendo can really do about it either. Then I'll never buy another Nintendo console within its lifespan again. Doesn't matter how good their games are; making a c...

Re: Smashed my TV
Wonderful. The phone is super durable. People can diss the iPhone all they want but in my personal experience it is as durable as the old Nokia phones. I have to buy a new TV eventually. I want a big one though so it will be a while. Not interested in another 55". It feels way to small for me....

Honestly, these are pretty impressive from a technical standpoint, but they just go to show that the 2600 is basically good for nothing.

Re: PIER SOLAR HD for Dreamcast starts shipping soon!
I opened it up and tried it out, but I need to solve a couple of minor issues before I really dive into it. We rearranged the apartment and upgraded our TV a couple of months ago, which is great in general but a little bit problematic for the Dreamcast. First, the controller cord doesn't *quite* rea...

Re: For those who haven't seen Nintendo's Super Smash Bros n
I'm probably the only person in the world who was disappointed by this. I was hoping for either Shovel Knight (as a nod to the important role indie devs have played for the Wii U) or Simon Belmont (as a continuation of the whole "Nintendo treats classic franchises better than their owners"...

DCEmu Decides the 2016 Presidential Election
Well, we have a crap-ton of mostly terrible candidates to choose from (which Auto Correct keeps changing to "cartoon," and I'm rather inclined to let it).
Do you know who you're voting for?
What swayed you?
