Re: The Ascension Of Vigil
So you replaced the quake monsters with place holders? Is there a way a user can put the quake monsters back in the game? Yes I was hoping to have a modeller replace the Quake monsters ingame, since I doubt that will happen as I can't find a 3D Modeller who cares enough I'll soon be personally aski...

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil last release and Tyne
A bit of both. More RAM in DC would be nice but there's work-arounds, but it's mostly because Quake isn't optimized on Dreamcast in the slightest aside from the Titanium Port - but even that's a poor port. :\

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil last release and Tyne
By the way if you wish to run the latest beta version on DC go ahead, I'd like to hear the results. Best thing you can do is tell me which map (.bsp) loaded and how it ran. If you have a framerate counter let me know how high/low it was in certain scenes. I'm interested to hear, seems the farther th...

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil last release and Tyne
I have to add, I still consider the Quake ports on DC the best Quake ports in terms of what I've seen pulled off. Kurok doesn't count, engine modification by someone who spent the time to do it to suit his own mod itself on PSP, but in terms of compatibility the DC engine so far to this day on a con...

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil last release and Tyne
Simple answer No Long answer: A few beta levels may run and be fully playable but you'll find the main levels run out of ram and crash. Problem is music is kept in the RAM itself, it's not streamed - a HUGE memory hog; DC has very limited amount of memory where you're stuck doing this - make simple ...

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil
I have no idea, my job is killing me. Things are going very slow because of that. I'm looking into getting a better job, but I've got to pay my current debts first. Do what matters in life first and foremost always. It's good to hear you have spirit on working on Makaqu even to this day, great engi...

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil
Welcome, if you're wondering what happened to me. I got discouraged by lack of mappers, then a woman entered my life; she's now gone.
I can now focus. Vigil lives on!
By the way, Map02ak is the latest Map02. If you want it playable then put this in console:
sv_gameplayfix_easierwaterjump 0

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil
Darkplaces.exe was used as candidates for the latest stable Darkplaces releases which would replace TAoV.exe as development moved forward. Pretty sure the included Darkplaces.exe didn't affect the gameplay at all so feel free to use it. P.S Feel free to report bugs to this day ;) EDIT: I'm here to a...

Re: The Ascension Of Vigil
Sorry for the LONG delay. http://rennyc.slipgateconstruct.com/ All my mods are now rehosted, and TAoV is in it's own sub folder. It includes the latest version which was unreleased, you can tell since I removed the iD software monsters with crappy variants as placeholders. Includes development files...

Re: Stealth Quake Released!
No problem.
Would be nice if someone did a Dreamcast test, if it doesn't work then I know I can release the "Stealth Quake Console" dumbed down version I have sitting on my XBox.

Re: Stealth Quake Released!
Version 1.2 of Stealth Quake has been released, this is more than likely the final release and is a major upgrade from previous versions which are no longer available; the changelog is below. If you currently have v1.0/v1.1 of Stealth Quake installed you can get the PATCH here - Darkplaces: http://r...

Re: castlevania in quake1
Ya it's not bad, dunno if it's compatible with regular Quake. I recall the author lurks around here also, it'd be nice to know if he's still planning on working on it since last I saw there was a pretty awesome looking Simon model. If anyone cares, here's one I did, http://youtube.com/watch?v=KJlnVu...

I'd also like to point out that the Xbox port of Duke3D is flawless, someone is using the wrong version.
