Re: LCD getting tons of stuck pixels.

well, it didnt do it in xp, so it must just be vista driver issue. Theres a new one coming out soon so hopefully it will fix it.

Re: LCD getting tons of stuck pixels.

I'm not sure if it's a card or driver issue at this point, didn't really get a chance to test it. But i narrowed it down, it only does it when i have video output enabled over component- and it doesnt happen on my tv (720p res) only my monitor. I also haven't tested to see if it's just a vista drive...

LCD getting tons of stuck pixels.

As title states, my almost one year old acer x191w is starting to give me a lot of problems. It will randomly give me anywhere between 2-20 "stuck (green)" pixels. If i change the screen, like minimize/maximize, or even move the mouse over the spot rapidly it will go away. I still have som...

Re: OSX "Leopard" Is a Smug Bastard

I walked into an apple store once, maybe twice. The last time i was in there (2 weeks ago) i was asking some questions about the hardware differences and why the prices jumped so much, and the answer given was: "Well if you can't afford the price of the macbook pro's, then you dont need that mu...

now, if vista had included an image of a mac error to indicate there was a mac on the network...just imagine the kind of feedback it would have gotten.

Re: Possibilities for my new PC

the only thing i could suggest is to scrap the 2 8600's and get either an 8800 or wait till mid november for ati to release it's rv670 product (was hd2950, now rumored to be hd3xxx series). After seeing the performance of 2 8600 OC's, i was very disappointed, my 1950 pro actually did better than the...

Re: UT3 Demo out

This game runs awesome, even on older specs (2.4ghz P4 OC'ed to 3.1, 1gb ram, ATI9600) and runs flawlessly with all of it's available settings maxed out on a "budget" system (c2d e6300, 2gb ram, ati 1950pro) the gameplay is just as quick as the first one, but the AI seems to be too good. b...

Re: i wish ms would just release halo ds

^^that's what i was thinking. It doesnt appear to use the touchpad to aim, and to walk around with just the dpad would suck. It'd be like doom with new levels.

If they did take halo portable, it would be better to have it on the psp. Better gfx and the "analog" nub.

Re: Buying a video card, is this a good deal?

^^ I definitely understand the local thing, and thats true between waiting for funds to transfer and whatnot would be a pita. Plus, i'm not sure i wanna sell it right now, ATI is no longer offering me the 2900xt for 240$. so i'm not sure what i'm going to do. but with the aftermarket cooler, you sho...

Re: Buying a video card, is this a good deal?

you cover the extra international shipping, i'll sell you my x1950pro (ATI) 256 for 75$+international shipping (USD, but that doesnt really matter anymore) Wait, is this PCI-E or AGP?

But to answer your question, i wouldn't call that a good deal.

Re: Computer Memory Question

Your going to need ddr pc2100 ram.

Another easy way to tell without opening up your case is with CPU-Z. it's a small program that tells you all motherboard (chipset/pocessor) info and will do ram as well, as to how many slots you have and how many are available, speed, type, etc.

Re: can you use multiple bestbuy reward zone certificates ?

Yes, you can use as many of those as you want/have. I've used over 200$ on one receipt before. Just make sure you use them before they expire! (i just threw out 75$ worth of certificates that my g'ma didn't use because they didnt have anything she wanted!)
