Re: What's your specs?
I'm a little behind the curve (two years). HP DVD+-RW burner Antec 902 case (hey, it's very durable and has decent cooling, and ended up being under $100) Western Digital 640 GB SATA HDD @ 7200 RPM ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 790X mobo Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (with a CoolerMaster Hyper212 Plus on ...

Re: Skyrim!
You're crazy. Also, for some reason all of Bethesda's games run like shit on PS3. I will admit to not having played it enough to give it a fair judgement, not to mention playing it on console instead of PC (I never like first person games as much on consoles, Metroid Prime/Goldeneye excepted). I'll...

Re: Building a new PC
Best Buy plans to completely eliminate all physical media. It's why a lot of them have so many random new things, like musical instruments, popcorn machines, soda makers, etc - they're hoping to find SOMETHING to replace them. Personally, I think Best Buy is circling the toilet, and will probably be...

Re: Skyrim!
Thought I'd give it a shot after not liking Oblivion. I did like Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Didn't give it a huge amount of playtime, but it felt like Oblivion still. I dunno, just don't like it. The conversation/character stuff is better, but it's still not nearly as good as Fallout 3/New Vegas. At l...

Re: Jobs
Funny this thread is still going. I was out of work for a good while, but I'm now working in retail (making enough money I can live with roommates, though just barely) and going for a Master's. Library science thing - I actually have like 5 years of experience working in libraries, and I've been kin...

Re: Commercial homebrew?
The only SNES homebrew released on cartridge I know of is Frog Feast, which has been released on a TON of systems. Unfortunately, to date there doesn't appear to be a homebrew replacement for the SNES lockout chip (unlike the NES, where there are a couple homebrewed ones available) so it was made by...

Re: Commercial homebrew?
I've actually been wondering the same thing, and a list would be helpful. BTW, I have a copy of Battle Kid and Pier Solar. They're both really good actually. From what I've seen of your taste on this forum, think you'd really like Battle Kid. It is hard, but the design, music, graphical design and g...

Re: Moving to a new town... for the first time in ten years
Your place looks great. It's kind of what my place would like if I had any taste. Also, that Singer sewing machine, we had that exact same one in my house from the time I was born til we moved to Missouri when I was 18. Also, Outlander isn't a great film, but it is interesting: it tries to give a pl...

Re: Netflix ditches the DVD business
Yeah. Must piss off the studios when they can't continue to charge money to let people see their decades old pieces of property. They've probably hated it since CDs came out, which don't wear out like vinyls and cassettes.

Re: Netflix ditches the DVD business
Probably nothing. I'd likely buy a lot more movies though. Occasionally Redbox new releases.
I may keep it though... Not 100% yet honestly.

Re: Goddamnit, George Lucas
Also, in 1080p, the CGI is horrifically dated. All live-actors on screen look like they've been dropped into a Pixar film It's made worse by the flat lighting often used and bland camera angles. Everyone pops out of the background more than they should because of that. Revenge of the Sith has the s...

Re: Netflix ditches the DVD business
They're vastly overestimating the speed of the demise of the DVD part of their service. It WOULD have been a significant part of their business for probably another 5 years, maybe longer, but they're just killing it now. The instant selection is getting significantly better, but it's still not good ...

Re: Goddamnit, George Lucas
I haven't seen the whole thing yet, but there's a number of really good things about the edit and some bad ones... Bad: He added music to a variety of scenes without it - almost all of these were poor choices in my opinion. The re-edit of Vader/Obi-Wan duel plus music just wrecks it. I think he did ...

Re: Super Smash Land
I have to admit I would have been a lot more intrigued if this was actually going to be released on cart. I dunno, still looks kind of neat, but when it's not a ROM or a cart, it means it was purely a stylistic choice and you weren't actually forced to work around difficult hardware. That's half the...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
In theory I should have Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the Augmented PC version, but Best Buy's preorder system is stupid and a waste of time, so I have to wait til tomorrow. Annoying. I'm working there part time right now, and they say they want to take out GameStop. Not happening with the way the prio...

Re: Jobs
I currently work for a cable company. I don't like it. Too much stressful overtime, contradictory demands, and stressful work. Something about the job gives me bad headaches too, and I worry about my back as apparently I suck at hefting ladders. So I'll be quitting soon I think and I have no replace...

Re: WANTED: NES & SNES Games (ADDED: Games for Sale)
Unfortunately, I was mistaken. Only had a dupe of one of the NES titles, and it's Chip N Dale (super common). Oh well.

Re: WANTED: NES & SNES Games
By my mental estimate, all those SNES titles combined would run in the $300-$350 range if bought individually. Just a heads up there. That said, I presume you don't care if these are complete or anything? I think I might have duplicates of a couple of the NES carts you're looking for, have to double...

Re: Ghost Trick - DS
I saw the previews for this on the Nintendo channel. I didn't realize it was done by the guys who did Phoenix Wright. Thought the trailer looked interesting, but I was betting it'd lack a lot of polish. Sounds like I was wrong.
I'm sold.
