Called the cable company. They were very friendly and sent a firmware update to the box. Audio issue is fixed, all components hooked up, Thompson happy.

Got an HDMI cable... now I'm getting patchy audio on HD channels and periodic bleeps on SD channels.

I tried all of the HDMI inputs on the Bravia, but no luck. I'm going to exchange the cable tomorrow. Wish me luck...

Nevermind again... apparently, I am using horizontal stretch now and it's stretching the HD signal as if it were SD.

Would getting HDMI work? I'm using component right now... I didn't know if the HDMI sends extra data or what.

Ok, there apparently is an option to auto-fit the SD signal... just took some playing around. Stupid Sony home menu...

So I just got HD TV set up. I had previously set the SD signal to stretch to the screen. If I have it set up like that and go to an HD channel though - it stretches off the screen. My question is if I can somehow have it set up so when I go to an SD channel, the TV will automatically scale the video...

As for my personal choices from the new album, I recommend Before The Lobotomy , Last Night on Earth , Murder City , and Restless Heart Syndrome . It definitely feels, to me at least, like this album is NOT fan-service to the Hot Topic kids who, after the release of the last album, became super fan...

Overall, I enjoyed it. The character development was pretty good and the acting, for the most part, felt decent. It seemed pretty long though and some of the effects (IE Nixon's makeup) felt comical.
