Re: Planet Ring is Back Online!

The easiest is a free dial up isp, and that works best. The netopia and dc-pc are reccommended if you don't have access to a dial up (and can't get access to one) EDIT: Actually looking at the current ebay auctions, and having seen them like a month ago or more. It has increased a lot in price! Befo...

Re: Planet Ring is Back Online!

Get your copies before they increase in value like PSOv2 USA did when the Hunter's License check was cracked (of course... they only rose to like $15 lol)! Of course, considering that PSOv2US was going for less than a dollar (I saw some with free shipping go for $0.01) before I patched out the HL c...

Planet Ring is Back Online!

Finally, after all this time, IberDC is proud to present you what most of you already knew. The revival of Planet Ring as a Dreamcast online game, what we call “The EarthCall Project” . It has taken time, effort, and countless hours of testing and trial/error but it sure is worth it. The server soft...

Re: dreamcast armc cpu uses?

What I mean is, it "seems" to use the sound memory, and perhaps it should be worth looking it they use the arm on all these.

Re: dreamcast armc cpu uses?

What about of the official SDK documentation? That could have something related... Did the official libraries made any use of it anyway? EDIT: It seems it did... GD-DA In this method, the AICA CPU decodes PCM from the GD-ROM to produce sound. PCM Stream In this method, Ring Buffer is secured in the ...

Re: Was the dreamcast pushed to its limits

Still if the dreamcast had been continued I think SEGA could have squeezed its potential a lot more in further sdk. Just look at some of the latest ps2 games and compare them to the ps2 games on the dreamcast era. Heck even some dc ports were better than the ps2 counterpart ( texture wise, controls,...

Re: Was the dreamcast pushed to its limits

Shenmue didn't froze for me even when the dc was cool.

Shenmue doesn't have mipmaps?

Being so adamant on performance as they were for the shenmue games I don't know how they didn't see a performance gain with that...

Re: Can a DVD player read GD's?

AFAIK they can't too, because of the way the data is sorted, dvds can't read it either.

But there's always a way to trick the players ( trap cds and such ) to be able to read the data...

Re: OpenGL - New Build in the works

It is indeed impressive, I guess your GL lib is being put to good use right now in some games isn't it :) Actually I'd like to know the difference of perfmrance you could get with benchmarks on KGL and GL. I guess your GL is faster, but how much? Also Shenmue 2 was said to have near 6 million poly c...

Hello fellas, I know it's been a while and this project has been on "pause" for a long time. Considering I may have some more free time now I decided it's time get on it personally. We've had some people helping but for some reasons the project always ended up not moving forward. So if som...
