The Inhabitants you can download is a VERY early demo that was released by Brandon Parker in December. This is NOT the final version of Inhabitants DC. There are many more features in the final version. :)

Yeah - if anyone is planning on going to the Midwest Classic, look for us there. We are planning on probably flying out to promote the release of the game. I'd love to meet some of you crazy folks. :D

Wow - S+F's game won. We are truly honored... :)

Uh - I don't speak for all of the winners, but I'm going to try and get some info and screenshots of Inhabitants DC up within the coming week...

Again - Wow... Thanks to all the community.

Well - this game would be cool if it wasn't using friggin' Mario. The idea of a customizable side-scroller is definately neat, but these folks should create new characters or something. "Fan games" are often overlooked by a lot of people (including myself)... :(

Here's the word on who is done judging... from what I saw over at the Consolevision message boards... Mickey McMurray (MetaFox), Max Scharl (Freeze), and Dave Belmonte (AudioGenius) are supposedly done judging the entries. Dan Potter and Roddy Toomim (DJGeki) need to finish up though... Shouldn't be...

I'd like to take a moment and be the devil's advocate for just a second... Sega could've saved themselves if DC had required a mod-chip to play pirated games... I think a major reason PSX piracy wasn't as high is because most people are either too lazy or too stupid to install a mod chip in their co...

That's definately very, very cool. However, I hope the games don't cost 30$. Seeing as how they are all nearly 20 years old or so, they aren't worth it in my opinion... ... ... UNLESS there are DX version on those carts (a la Super Mario All-Stars)... *Drool*

This statement refers to independent (homebrew) game development in general. I think there more cases of originality in these types of games because risk isn't a factor as it is with corporate game development.

Am I being coherent... anyway, these entries should all be interesting.

I guess I am just kind of weird about that sort of thing - but anything video game related I get secondhand, I get it from friends of mine or something. However... I believe I will be getting a DC if all goes according to plan soon. Oh - and just for the record - 15$ can be a lot of money when you'r...

Here's a situation of this holding true. I'm a developer, I don't have a Dreamcast, someone on my team does and is programming for it. I'm not pushed to program for it because of the lack of hardware on my end. I've thought about buying a pre-owned Dreamcast, but I never trust buying anything pre-ow...

A Possibility

I really think porting other S+F Software titles to Dreamcast would be great... especially any of the games in the Trevor series. I am really glad you all enjoy Inhabitants. We have a new puzzle game for PC in the works this week, as well. It's not mentioned on the site, but all I can say is it is m...

Hello everyone. Just to clear some things up here and thank all of you for the kudos, I was the one who was lead programmer for Inhabitants (PC version) and the concept is my own. The graphics were done by Andrew Bado. The project is released under S+F Software. As for Brandon, the Dreamcast version...
