Go Bucs in the NFC.... (I really don't know why, but I associate Pittsburg and Philly, and I hate the Steelers) and in the AFC, go TITANS! (Hmmm.... once again, don't know why...).

Try typing in "gcc -v" in the cygwin shell to check if gcc is installed, if it is then just type "export cc=gcc" and it should work out for you.

I've done the whole make your own distro thing, and it worked pretty well. Instructions on how to do it easily can be found at this address: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/ . Thats how I did it at least. I might just do that again for my other computer, that way I can have a dedicated dev box, and ...

Ok, even though anyone who was probably waiting for it, went and tried a different method, I've finally gotten a tutorial and script up on my site for building the toolchain on MinGW and MSYS. I think that the page sortof explains it all, so I wont go into any detail. If you wish to take a look, cli...

No need, it works fine. I've uploaded a new version to my site, and it works fine (at least for PNG and JPEG files, thats all the image formats I had handy to test with). Its up on the downloads section of my site. (Actually it required no changes whatsoever from its original form, just a file that ...

Did you use the newest version of SDL_image off of my site? With the newest version the "SDL_image.h" file is not in its own directory anymore, its in the same one as the rest of SDL. Also, the source of SDL_image is in addons/SDL/SDL_image. Just by looking at your makefile, it seemed a bi...

You're going to have to make a cross compiler targetting the SH. You will have to make a cross environment including the following: gcc-3.0.4 or lower binutils-2.11.2 or lower and Newlib 1.10.0. There are many scripts around the internet to automate the build of just such a toolchain. Also there are...

The best thing to do is to get the kos-src and kos-examples, and compile it yourself. Failing that go witht the kos-dc-bin and kos-examples-dc-bin.

Yes a coder's cable means that you wouldn't have to burn CD's all of the time.

The newest version of KOS has SDL actually included as part of it, and it works fairly well.

If you want examples and such, see the DC and SDL topic in this forum.
