It certainly wasn't the easiest thing to code for in 3D, but it certainly could do 3D, and quite well at that. The best example that always sticks in my mind is the Shenmue Saturn beta. Those screenshots and videos are still impressive for a 32-bit machine.

if you dont know "the whole story" its useless to post your feelings. we are not judging fragger here, its just that i cant add his changes to my code, and it makes me mad because i told him several time i was working on parts i didnt want him to work on, but he did it anyway. you didnt s...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down. Don't react negatively to Christuserloeser's post. To tell you the truth, I had the same perception as Christuserloeser on this matter, but I didn't post anything because I didn't know the whole story, perhaps neither did Christuserloeser. But now I see why there's a bit...

Although I'm not sure how it'll run (with all of the tricks we can throw at it), I'm still fairly excited about this project, and kudos goes to the author of having the cojones to achieve another 'Dreamcast impossibility'. Can I assume this emulator will be homebrew-oriented? As much as I'd love to ...

I assumed that. 640*480 is damn fine for TV.

I'd laugh if people created VGA Box-only games because of higher resolutions. Laugh because I don't have one. :(

Thanks for the quick reply, and considering 640x480 on a TV is fairly sharp, it's awesome that it's supported. 800*608... whoa...

This is making me want to review JS tutorials...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait up. Question:

"DM_320x240, DM_640x480, DM_800x608, DM_256x256, DM_768x480, DM_768x576"

Are these the resolutions DS will support, or is this something entirely different?

Very... very... very... interesting. Could prove to be very, very useful.

There. There's my supply of the word "very" for the day.

Heck, if the Dreamcast could emulate a 486 @ 25Mhz, 4Mb of RAM, it would be quite a feat. Many GREAT games ran on that.

I just wondered, because that would be useful for a Doom remake/sequel I thought of. But like I said, just a thought.

A Question: Sprites for Weapons and Monsters

Just something I've been wondering for a while. It is possible (and easy) to use sprites as weapons and enemies? Example would be Doom or Duke Nukem 3D for example. If yes, is it effected by dynamic lighting (it darkens/lightens/etc.)? I've been looking around Google, but alas, my Googling skills su...

In theory, If one were to extract the BASIC code from the .BB file (to find all of the gameplay mechanisms), and then tried to re-write it into C. Then someone could try to create a 2D engine to house the gameplay C code in. Of course, I'm talking out of my ass... EDIT: Actually, looking at the BASI...

In theory, it's a great idea, and I'm pretty sure it's an idea that has been explored before.

However, I don't think it's remotely feasble on the DC. Unless, of course, someone creates a jacked-up DC browser with Flash support in it, but I'm pretty sure that is not going to happen.

Well, I'd like the PDF version, because frankly, if I'm not at school, I'm on a computer, and reading PDFs are OK with me. #2 would be great if the price was right, but it'll be a strain on you and your resources. I can't see #3 happening, although it'd be the best aesthetic choice. There are popula...

I'm stuck using NeoRage to rip my sprites... It's taking awhile (for only one freakin' character!!), but it's getting there. Man, two more ripped characters and then I'm using the freebies off the internet!
