Re: The Ascension Of Vigil

Just PM Darc and host it here. Darc was already contacted. Quote from Wed Mar 02, 2016 3:23 am: 3 years later, I'm still around. I just replied to darc so hopefully I'll hear back. I haven't touched TAoV in a long time, but there were changes made not too long ago I'd like to share =) Darc also con...

Re: In The Line Of Fire - Coming Soon!

(I suggest splitting all of the graphical quality discussion into a "How should homebrew 3D games for the DC look?" thread) Basically I was like it doesn't look like Soul Calibur or any other major 3D fighting game on the Dreamcast. That was the idea. I didn't even find it to be as good as...

Re: In The Line Of Fire - Coming Soon!

Virtua Cop 2 is a game from the Saturn era; it's one of the best-looking Saturn games. Had it been originally developed for the Dreamcast, of course it could have used higher res textures and higher poly models, while retaining the same visual style. In The Line Of Fire has already covered those asp...

Re: In The Line Of Fire - Coming Soon!

It's important to get the gameplay right first, because adding art on top of a map that is simply not fun will not make it better. [...] You mentioned character animation, but I feel the animation of the environment is even more important. You're contradicting yourself. Character animation is intri...

Re: Nintendo Switch

I had great fun playing Metroid Prime standing up in front of my TV. Doing arm movements to turn and look around felt great. It's really the most fun way to play first person games, despite being not the most accurate. It's sad to see such a thing go away. However, in most Wii games, which were not ...

Re: Nintendo Switch

Nintendo said the Wii U wasn't going to be discontinued yet, but afterwards it seems they confirmed that it's indeed going to be discontinued. They also said the Switch won't replace the 3DS. Only time will tell. For new games, the only disadvantages the Switch seems to have over the 3DS are the lac...

Re: Sonic Utopia, a free-roaming 3D sonic experiment

I have always stated the Sonic speed platforming experience is better suited for 3D. Running left to right just doesn't have the same sense of speed 3D offers.
The vast majority of classic Sonic gameplay is about momentum, not speed.

Re: Kano sucks

Actually, UMK3 made it worse because they botched the physics.

In MK3, the physics while jumping or kicking in the air works properly, with character position and timing playing a role, but from UMK3 onward, it's just a dumb priority system of "jumping punch beats jumping kick" everytime.

I've played on PSP, GBA, Dingoo, Gopher and JXD S7300 while on the bus, and nowadays I play on my Android phone with an ípega 9023 Bluetooth controller, which is huge. Re: Nintendo Switch

It's an overpowered handheld, with lots of potential to keep Nintendo as the main force in handhelds. Of course, it can also be used as a regular console, which is a great feature for when playing at home. I suspect that one of the most significant audiences will be the people who doesn't play on co...
