Some more tests... Beyond the Ice Palace: Works. Sound not very good. Bloodwych: Works. Frame counter says it's 50fps, but I find it a bit slow BMX Simulator: Works great! Bubble Bobble: The CPC hangs when you start a new game. Buggy Boy: Works great, only a bit of garbage in the borders. Bumpy: I h...

OK, you only need a resistor of ( 5-1.8 )/0.02 = 160 ohm in series with each LED. You can use a 150 or 180 one if you can't find 160 ohm resistors. I hope this pseudo schematic is clear enough: |-------o +5V GND o------| | | | | | 160 R | -------/\/\/\/\-------|>|------ | | | | | 160 A | -------/\/\...

I finished both Shenmue I and II and they were (at least for me) pretty BORING (specially the first one). Most of the time you're having stupid conversation or making repetitive actions. Technically impressive, but I prefer playing for example SEGA Tetris with a friend rather than Shenmue.

Treasure is over-rated. I find most of their games to be all hype and no real substance to back it up. Playability is the key factor in Treasure games. No 50 page game manuals, no complicated controls or storylines, just plain games but with a extremelly careful learning curve. I love Treasure sinc...

Even with the issue of not booting Royal Rumble, it's for sure the best bootdisc. The ability to force video modes makes it really valuable.

CDX should always work unless you do some strange thing (like trying to force an incorrect mode). CDX is the best bootdisc for imports btw.

Re: Charred Dirt (Best Scorched Earth Clone)

An easily portable game is called charred dirt, and the source has just been released. Get it at http://www.charreddirt.com Easily portable? The source code was written with Microsoft Visual C++ 7.0 with the Allegro library. (found at http://www.allegro.cc) All the other libraries, such as AGUP, FB...

First other bug I think I didn't report before. It's almost impossible to play with keyboard in most games because when you press a key, there's a noticeable latency and if you keep the key pressed, the emulator doesn't detect that you hold it. Ano now, some more tests: - After the war: Works great ...

I think the savegames are compatible, i.e. you can start the game with a NTSC savegame and continue with a PAL game (and even when you continue with a PAL game, the savegame still will be a NTSC one). I tried that a lot of time ago and worked. What you can't do is to start a Shenmue II game from a N...

Great ideas! Especially I consider extremely useful the idea of making some pre-built game engines, it would make it a lot easier to use. The easier it is, the more used will become. The main advantage of BOR is it's very easy, and that's the reason of all the mods. With pre built game engines you c...

You can but if for example you use a 150 ohm resistor for one led, you'll have to use a 150/5 = 30 ohm resistor to feed the five leds (or five 150 ohm resistors, one in series with each LED).

WOW, REALLY IMPRESSIVE... Too bad I can't help with it, it looks like you have considered a lot more things that I could ever think of... Maybe you should format it. If after formatting continues refusing to save, maybe you should return it, maybe it will not work with Nester DC. Some time ago I think I read some non SEGA VMs had problems with NesterDC and also with some other homebrewn apps, but I'm not sure.

Another thing to consider is if you have used your DC to run homebrewed apps, the drive can get stressed by reading certain parts of the disc. I've heard that it will shorten the lifespan of your system to run emulators and homebrewed apps, but that is only what I've heard and have not experienced ...
