I recommend Border Down, Psyvariar 2, or Zero Gunner 2 instead if you're looking for a shooter. All those games put Giga Wing 2 to shame. It's not a very polished game, certainly isn't anything new or innovative, filled with Engrish, bad sound, bad controls, bad graphics, avoid as stated before.

This may sound like a stupid question, but why do emulators for some systems require bios images, but others don't? Such as, why is a bios image required for a Playstation or a Saturn emulator, but not for an NES or N64 emulator?

Nope, the GBA link cable can send data up to 2mb/sec, which would be difficult/impossible if you were trying to play online. There are GB and GBC emulators supporting the link feature, but none for GBA
