Re: gms in pso/pc sylverant

There was a time when orange arrows were used to mark GMs in SCHTServ, and it was impossible to disable them. They were finally made optional later, but there isn't much point to them, since the /bcast command already serves as proof and works anywhere, while arrows are limited to lobbies.

Re: issues

If characters don't save even in offline mode, you're probably running on Vista/7 without administrator rights. PSO saves data in the Program Files directory, and since that's a system folder, you have to be an administrator to have write access to the save files. If you don't have write access, PSO...

Re: gms in pso/pc sylverant

I offer deathrabbit's trainer to disable your weapon from dropping on my site, and while you can use it in legit teams on Altimira (since it prevents game bugs from deleting your weapon and doesn't give you an unfair advantage), you need to disable it in Battle and Challenge modes, since it would gi...

Re: PSO patcher burning

Splitters allow you to connect multiple phones to the same line. They do not magically give you two lines. ;) Setting up a DC-PC server is a pain. You need to download an installation of Linux and software for running a virtual OS inside your real computer (like VMWare), and then you need to do a bu...

Re: @BlueCrab

You can check the depth by right clicking on the desktop, selecting the properties, and looking at the tab for advanced settings, at least on XP and earlier.

Re: @BlueCrab

That sounds like what happens when you try to run in window mode with your desktop set to the wrong colour depth. If your graphics card supports 32-bit colour, you must use that setting. If you can only use up to 24-bit colour, you must downgrade to 16-bit colour for window mode to work, or PSO will...

Re: Stuck potentiometer?

I tuned mine some 5 months ago or something back. When I twisted the screw the varnish broke free with ease. Shouldn't be hard to turn at all. I wonder if mine got some sort of extra-strength varnish when I sent it in for repairs many years ago, because it's definitely not easy to break it off on m...

Re: I log my char is gone

There is no way on those versions to move your full character data between different machines. This isn't true, but it does take some configuration for it to work. Once you install PSO on the second computer, you need to register using the same serial number, access key, and e-mail address you used...

Did you burn it with these settings? All Dreamcast CDI files should be burned this way, to my knowledge.

Re: Quests glitching between V1 and 2

At the risk of adding to the to-do list (Nuu!), it's still possible for the server to prevent the problem, though. It never happened on Sega's server, and it doesn't happen on SCHTServ, either. (If you use the public SCHT software, you can end up with people being invisible in the lobby, though. :lo...

Re: Quests glitching between V1 and 2

It doesn't happen on other servers though, so once Sylverant has a thread dedicated to each player, throttling the sending of quests may alleviate the problem. It might not be related to the actual sending of the data though, since Dreamcast players can be invisible to PC players, and it's impossibl...

Re: Quests glitching between V1 and 2

Sylverant often has a bug when you start a quest, in that your teammates will be invisible when the quest starts. As soon as they finish talking to the client NPC and move, they appear.

Re: Cool! 8 people in the lobby on Iselia tonight!

Do you use window mode? If you do, the screenshot function doesn't work properly. You get an image, but it's just static. You can take screenshots in full screen by pressing the Print Screen key, and you'll hear a shutter sound and see a flash. Images then go in C:\Program Files\SEGA\PhantasyStarOnl...

Re: Can't play - 'your guild card is already online' message

You get the Guild Card error if you get disconnected due to a network failure on your end that causes you to lose your connection to the server. Since you weren't able to tell the server that you were leaving, it thinks you're still online, so you get blocked from logging in again. The server genera...

Re: Some PSOv1 US bugs.

The quest list is empty because all of the VR and event quests are incompatible with Ver.1. Once the transition to the new quest system is finalized across all the ships, it will be possible to change the Ver.1 quest list to not even show those categories.

Stuck potentiometer?

My Dreamcast has gotten to the point where it randomly freezes when playing GD-ROMs sometimes, so I figured it was time to try adjusting the potentiometer to increase the strength of the laser and prolong the system's life for a bit. Unfortunately, the red varnish that holds the screw in place is, s...

Re: ATT everyone > Pesky rumours

While I do not know what happened, I will take the opportunity to say that I would like users on Altimira to refrain from speaking ill of other players. Our community is too small to allow rumours and hearsay to divide the remaining players even further. If someone cheats in your game that has legit...
