Re: HTC Touch

Nice choice ACE, how is it? I am also considering getting one. I am just concerned about input because my Pocket PC device has a fairly tiny on-screen keyboard, and I think it'd be awkward using a stylus, especially while on the train. I am more keen on tactile input rather than virtual input. The o...

Australia ratifies the Kyoto protocol

Well it didn't take Kevin Rudd long to make his first official move as Australia's new Prime Minister, only a few hours after being officially sworn in as Prime Minister he's ratified the Kyoto protocol as his first big move. I've questioned the appropriateness of Kyoto recently as without the major...

Re: Sudan charges Briton with insulting religion

seems more to me that this is all because she's a westerner. Totally true, that could be the entire reason. In general, the behavior the Koran promotes is of a considerably better sort than the Old Testament. I don't think very highly of the Old Testament, but that should give some baseline. The Ko...

Re: Cool gift ideas

I need to pay my bills, not play with toys. Someone giving me cash for me to use to pay my bills or put gas in my car is a gift. Sorry to hear that, I've gone through that kind of thing myself. Always sucked lying to people that I was going to spend it on something good and then going and paying a ...

Re: Sudan charges Briton with insulting religion

Fear of the unknown is an explanation for a lot of Christianities behaviour in the past (not all of it). Strange and unknown things scared people and they acted stupidly as a result. These protests seem to be more so motivated by both hate and the wish for revenge, not from fear. Is this what Islam ...

Re: Sudan charges Briton with insulting religion

Alright, when I first heard of this I thought story in the beginning I thought "this is a few extremists having a cry and it will all blow over". Then the other day I heard that the school is closed till January and under guard for fear of revenge attacks. I thought "people could not possibly be as ...

Re: Mankind shortening lifespan of universe

According to quantum theory don't they say that every electron is everywhere in the universe at once? (and that includes everywhere in time too, imagine getting somewhere before you arrive :S) soooo ... umm... It certainly means that the universe is a strange strange place and you can't write anythi...

Re: John Howard ends reign as Australia's PM

The Liberal party has already fallen apart, so I am definitely glad that they didn't get in (I said the same thing about Labor last election too). Especially now that Costello has said that he won't be running for leadership, I wonder if in 18 months when Howard was "supposed" to step down, I wonder...

The $305 laptop was too expensive for him?

He deserved it and it's a funny story but if I were an employer I would have wanted you to handle it a little better than that. Doesn't do the store's reputation any good if you swear in front of the customers :P

John Howard ends reign as Australia's PM

Labor convincingly beat the Liberal party today in Australia's federal election ending John Howard's and the Liberal Parties 11 year reign in power. The current vote count gives Liberals 47 seats, Labor 72, other parties 2 seats with 29 seats yet to be declared (150 possible seats in the cabinet). K...

At the end of the day it's your personal preference isn't it?
There are actually many many worse themes, but I like my browser to match my OS as much as possible.

Re: Firefox 3.0 Beta is now out

Is the picture Manoel posted the default look? If so :repuke: No the default theme is meant to match your OS (and this time it actually does). Manoel's screen is FF2 running possibly the worst theme ever. No, but this beta looks almost as bad on OS X. Yea give it time, I think we're going to see a ...

Re: Firefox 3.0 Beta is now out

* Page scaling now zooms the pages (including images) instead of only font sizes Image Zoom . Not the same thing at all. :?: :?: :?: Actually that "Image Zoom" add-on does the same thing but it's not the same thing. Firefox 3 has a completely re-written units system which is why it can now zoom the...
