Re: WTF is with the Tv analog signal deal

You know that's a MASSIVE sore point for me, I have always wanted a portable TV but it's something that I've just never bothered getting. I suppose it's too late now. As always, modern science has a solution: 30+ digital TV channels, 15 radio and sling hardware included for £5 a month. Looks lik...

Re: So I nabbed PSU tonight.

Agh, I rented this for 360 not realising the offline mode consists of an awful single-player story mode and nothing else. I was expecting something like PSO on the Gamecube (4-way split screen), alas no. :|

Just the one, I'm waiting on the price of those 750GB SATA drives to drop a bit before upgrading.

Re: Yet another reason why the PS3 is toast.

I think it's fair to say that PS2 held roughly the same position in the last generation; as such I'm not sure what bearing this realistically has on PS3's success. The PS2 also sold at least five times as many consoles as its nearest competitor so you had two choices as a developer last gen: -Take ...

Re: Another one of those Video card recommendation threads

If you buy a card that has DDR3 memory will it cause problems running in a system with ddr2 memory? I thought about spending a few extra dollars and going with another card with a faster chip and DDR3 memory. No problems. System RAM and your card's video RAM are completely seperate and it's definit...

I've used two 48 hour codes so far on Euro Xbox Live

Edit: I don't think the other prizes are valid outside the US though.

Free Xbox Live Gold 48 hour trial codes

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/sho ... p?t=146025

You can get a free entry code from the promotional website and all "losing" entries are entitled to a 48 hour trial code. Allegedly you can enter once per day. Not bad.

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...

Oh yeah, The Darkness. It is too easy on all but hard difficulty, it's about 16 hours long with little replayability and the multiplayer's rubbish but it's got this soul and character about it quite uncommon for an FPS so I say it's a mandatory rental. It also comes with the highest accolade possibl...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...

Good luck? As in it's really hard or something? I remember renting the first Tenchu back on the PS1 back when it first came out, but I just didn't have much patience back then for any games that required skill Oh no, quite the opposite for the most part. The AI on every difficulty is blind, deaf an...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...

Forgot to mention I got a DVD Upscaler/PS2 Upscaler/Blu-Ray Player. Oh neat, is it that new one also capable of playing 360 ports? :) Tenchu Z (Xbox 360) $9 shipped on Microsoft Expertzone Good luck. I rented it and it plays pretty much the same as your old tenchu games on PS1. Looks like it belong...

Re: I want to buy a 360, but which version?

Some of my 360 game saves are between 5MB - 15MB. Buying a core plus memory card just doesn't make sense with that in mind. That and you miss out on the aforementioned wireless controller, headset and HD cabling included with the standard 360.

-Is the unit itself sturdy, and not prone to any defects/easy breakage? No and No. I played with a first edition GP2X and unless QC has changed significantly I cannot recommend one. I voiced my opinion way back when but in summary: -The plastic is crap. Creaky and of poor quality. The battery door ...

Re: Whats wrong with this laptop?

It's running vista now...slowly. Is there anything short of more ram that can speed up vista considerably? It's likely using an integrated GPU which besides stealing system RAM capacity also leeches off its bandwidth , so avoid any of Vista's fancy new GUI tricks like Aero. Also, convert your file ...

Yeah but this is a complete remake with better controls and graphics. Infact it's probably the best looking XBLA title at the moment.

Re: Some HDTV questions

Check standard def 480i content before you buy! Most cheaper sets and even some fancier ones have shockingly bad deinterlacers and scalers giving horrific image quality on anything but their native-res 720p inputs. This applies equally to Composite, S-Video and interlaced RGB, though composite vide...
