Whats wrong with electric cars? they are proven to work. Anyone seen the movie "Who killed the electric car"( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBIr8fTI19s ). Also you can get electric energy from wind farms, solar arrays and sea generators. Even if you burn fuel, you need to burn less than current ca...

Air powered cars are nothing new. I used to hear about them on talk radio back in 2002.

I read somewhere that a standard electric air compresser would take hours to pump the thing to capacity.

I heard a very good driving cause of this awhile ago:

Computing power (and by analog the ability to data record and search) doubles every 18 months. Population doesn't.

If I remember right, it seemed like a beep was transmitted during the "A"

It's more poetic without it, though.

The best places to find the word "fuck" on normal TV are problably History channel shows (apparantly a historical quote is alright. I think they had an interview with Ed Koch where he said it once)

Or late-night comedy central. They don't censor anything.

Apparantly the ol' Fuckbomb was uncensored in select markets. Some people said it was firmly bleeped, others said it was uncensored. In the US, too.

I think from what i've read that "LA" gives the best compression. But La is closed source, slow, etc. And the gains it gives over FLAC (even at medium compression) are fairly minimal. Probably a few percent, at the most. I personally like Flac. It seems to have the biggest corporate following (thoug...

Just a small update, CDEX with the "standard" setting and jitter correction enabled seem to do the job.

My first attempt was CDEX with full paranoia, that's when i went back to EAC and encountered problems, etc.

But this seems to work fine.

Argh, upon further listening the pops are still there, just not nearly as bad anymore. Seem to be there when i play directly from the CD, too.

Gonna have to scrounge up a CD player to see how it sounds from there. Too bad nobody has CDplayers anymore.

I just looked. Black Holes and Revelations... satin finish on the top of the disc, no logo anywhere. Empires... same satin finish. Also no disc logo. Both discs have a very weird data pattern on the bottom. Fairly normal looking inner part, until the music seems to stop. Then it's just random lookin...

So does anyone know of a site that has a fairly exaustive list of CDs that are protected? I have a couple that do this and i'd be curious to know if it's just me.

Strangely, the Winamp method is working so far.

How winamp beats out a program with all the bells and whistles like EAC is beyond me, however.

The CD seems to be pressed quite strangely. Think it's some sort of copy protection?

CD Ripping Trouble

Ok, I just BOUGHT, 100% legitimately bought the new Kasabian album, Empire. So, like i do with all my music, i'm ripping it to my computer for personal use. The problem is that, no matter how hard i try, i can't get the fricking POPS AND CLICKS out of the copy. I've done numerous EAC settings tweaks...

weird. I like Pink Floyd but I couldn't ever get into their later stuff. Yeah, it's different, but that's why I like it. And "High Hopes" is such an amazing album finale...or better yet, a BAND finale, since that was their last album. Good to know. It's going to take me awhile to get a feel for the...
