I was being a moron in my post above, and had written out a long post about how nothing was working. Before I posted it, I decided to see if DC Load 1.0.3 would help, and it turned out that DID work, so I wrote a new post. Due to sleep deprivation or something I forgot to delete what I'd already wri...

THANKS! I went into "Network Connections", found my ethernet card, clicked the TCP / IP properties, then changed the IP to 10.0.0.2. Then I did an arp -s 10.0.0.1 00-d0-f1-02-9a-f3 for my DC. Now I can ping it. Two additional questions: 1. I was using the dcload and dctool-ip 1.0.4 from th...

PC can't ping DC

Hey everyone. I just took the big plunge and bought the Broadband adapter. For some reason I was naive enough to assume that all I'd have to do is plug it in and use DCTOOL like before and everyone would magically work somehow... Of course, the moment I took it out of the box I had these awful flash...

Thanks a lot. The broad band adapter is endlessly expensive, causing me to put off buying it again and again (don't want to go with a half measure like making a USB to serial adapter either). I'm going to look at this more next time I'm home.

Ok. I used the Wayback machine to find a lot of info on Chanka's site, before it went under. I'll probably look at it in a weekend or two when I have more time.

Who here uses Chankcast to aid in development?

Hey guys, I just got a new laptop. It's pretty powerful, but lacks a serial port, so no DC deving for awhile. I was wondering, though, how many people use Chankcast for development? Are there any tutorials for making the images or whatever that it needs using Elf files and other stuff you'd normally...

Does the Japanese broadband adapter work for development?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a Japanese broadband adapter. Does anyone here know if those work with the normal dev tools that are available, like DCTOOL or the stuff that came on the Dev Iso?

Found it on a French website and was able to understand the alta vista translation on how to run it.

It actually worked! If it is indeed legal, I don't understand why it isn't all over the place.

Thanks for the advice! Ikaruga looks great! Now to just make sure I'm not hurting this monitor.

[quote="Matisfaction"][quote="Darkfalz"]If you use the normal Utopia boot disc which has been patched (simply enabled the VGA bit) then it works, but you boot "blind" (ie. while Utopia is running, you'll get no display on your screen, but once the game is loaded, it swi...

Boot disc screws up VGA support when playing import games

Hey guys, maybe a few of you have run into this problem. I just got a VGA adapter and was hoping to set a monitor up in TATE mode so I could play some Ikaruga. Well when I try to use the Utopia boot disc (which for all I know may not be legit anymore, though it used to be in this site's getting star...

Aha!

Wow, surprised I remembered my log in from several years ago on my first try. I just had to say you guys have answered a question that has been bugging the hell out of me! I was using KGL for awhile and noticed the same thing, essentially that the PVR was trying to depth sort the polygons. I looked ...

Thanks

Well, I figured it out. I just put a call to two javascripts before and after my main content, and the javascript puts all the formatting around the content. All I have to do is update those two javascript files for it to work. I must've had tunnel vision to be trying all this crap in perl! Thanks t...

Some questions about perl/cgi on Tripod

I'm trying to make a webpage where every single HTML page which gets accessed gets formated by the server before it gets sent to the user. In other words, something like IGN, DcEmulation.com, or other sites where every page is branded with the same consistent formatting which you can change if you w...

A stupid question-

I've downloaded the Divx 4.0 codec from http://www.divx.com. Now, in Virtual Dub, I have no problem creating divx movies that will later play on my Dreamcast. But what kind of sucks is that Media Player won't play any of the files I'm creating (so of course, I have no way to preview what I've done u...

A word of advice

I was having a lot of trouble because everything Virtual Dub would create would play in Media player with a black screen and just sound. Well, after I wasted a bunch of time on nothing, I decided to heck with it and just burnt in onto a CD. Turns out the thing will play for the Dreamcast even though...

YO!

This all makes perfect sense, ACCEPT- everyone keeps on saying after it does its first compression, but I have no idea how to make the thing compress other than "Save as AVI" on the file menu. So are you suppossed to save as a file for the first pass, change to the second pass, and then sa...

Question about ordering from LikSang-

I've heard a lot about LikSang from multiple sites, but when I went to order from them today (going to get a coders cable, I figure I need something else to sit around and collect dust...) under the terms of sale ( http://www.lik-sang.com/catalog/master.php?navbar=Terms+of+Sale&inc=tos.inc ) , e...
