The program requires SSE? How can it require SSE when it was designed for a Pentium 3 or lower :)

Does BOCHS require SSE2? Cause my CPU has only SSE1

I need a Pentium 4 emulator or tricker for AthlonXP machine

I'm running Win98 SE on an AthlonXP machine, but a certain program has a built-in check that it won't install on an Athlon machine, only if it detects a Pentium processor! This program was made before even the good ol' Athlon was released,so it was a measure to prevent installing on systems with AMD K...

Hey Scherzo, long time no see. I've been away from the DCEmu scene for more than a year,I believe many of you thought I left the DCEmu scene forever :) No,I haven't and now I'm returning with full force.I really miss the good old DC emu days when there was a lot of activity and great new emus. But,it...

How to run 3DMark99 Max on WinXP?

How to run 3D Mark 99 Max on WinXP? It requires DirectX 6.1 installed and when started,it gives a me a warning message to install DX6.1 or later...and I have DX 9.0c. Is there a DirectX "emulator" that will fool Windows thinking it has DX6.1 installed and enable this app to run? I must see it in act...

Using UDP transfer protocol instead of plain ol' TCP can reduce the latency greatly, provided both the server and the client support it. 56k emulator netplay on the DC is a very important feature that must be done (99% of all DC users have 33.6 or 56k modems, not BBAs) and it will bring new fresh life...

Well,Opera doesn't display well those pages I visit often.(some French emu sites) and it just repeats pages again as a new frame inside the same window, instead of linking me to the download section :( Also,I noticed that Opera's download manager also sucks,as the one in Firefox. When you resume the ...

It was once really Spyware Deluxe (2 years ago),but not anymore now.

I only know one instance when it IS spyware deluxe...when you register it :)

...I can't stand the loads of ads in sites such as Gamespot.com *ugh!*,just to read a tiny review about a game for a old system. AdBlock makes me breathe fresh air, free of ads.

If there was AdBlock and ImageZoom for Opera,I'll use only Opera and never install Firefox again (Opera is that good)...BUT as there are no such features in Opera for now,I use Firefox more than Opera.

What's so funny about me using GetRight? :)
With Firefox's download manager being a piece of crap right now,GetRight is a savior :)

(unless you use Opera - then you don't even need it)

I noticed that in Firefox. Firefox stresses the CPU badly for about 1 to 1.5 seconds when loading pages with JAVASCRIPT-based content. Just open that forbidden *EDIT* page which uses loads of Javascript, show those news from the previous day and you'll see what I mean :) Really stressing the CPU over...

EDIT

Opera is good, but your privacy is not guaranteed when you use it,despite those from Opera Software telling you the opposite.
Firefox is better in this area.
and you can cripple any webpage to get more speed and less things you don't want, using that AdBlock extension.

? The CPU loads... they almost match?
(or the red line shows VERY LITTLE CPU usage?)
Which one is from Opera? the red or the green diagram?
hmmm...seems like they use very similar rendering engine and optimizations
...or one of the browsers uses a lot less resources?

The average speed in NetStat's indicator is not true, because I ran NetStat way later after I connected. I used NetStat to show the "live" speed at the moment, because GetRight can't show that.
The real average speed is what you see on the GetRight window.

I know it's a "dummy" file, containing highly compressable data. But that's the trick. You can fool somebody with a high-speed 384 or 512kbps cable connection that your crappy 56k modem can keep up with thier high-speed cable :) The interesting thing is that when my friend who has 512kbps cable downl...

I get speeds up to 5.5kB/sec (constant average speed) on fileplanet
but I get over 17kB/sec when loading webpages ! :)
and for this file,I get up to 35kB/sec sometimes when the line is better, but mostly about 31kB/sec.

Very cool "trick"

Here's a pic of getting over 30k :)

Xylene,you got those 415kB/s with a 56k modem or with a T1/1Mbps cable/DSL?

I'm curious what speeds can you get with a crap 33.6/56k dialup modem, not with broadband.

Firefox page loading slow? Hahaha, you must be kidding. Try the "Tweak Network Settings" extension and set it to POWER. Then you'll see the real speed of Firefox. (and also try to optimize your OS and modem settings with lots of registry tweaks,dialup/broadband tweaks and settings for even more extra...

Freakin' 35kB/sec constant download with a 56k modem!

This is really nutz. It makes my 56k modem breeze at ADSL speeds. Just go and download this test file: ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64 and see what average download speed you can get :) ...and then use your ADSL/DSL/Cable modem and compare the speed to your 56k lol the 56k is a winner just downl...
