Re: Bus Wars: The battles are being won.

Russell was much more open-minded and careful in his thought that the general lot of people out there though (I remember after reading Frege, 'The Problems of Philosophy' was such a breath of fresh air). His perception of the 'popular' sense of atheist seems to fall in line exactly with what I was ...

Re: Teacher accused of burning cross on student's arm

Here's an update on this older story: The family of a student who said a science teacher burned the image of a cross on his arm settled a federal lawsuit with his former school district in their effort to move past the incident, a lawyer said Thursday. "It's really to put at least this part of the c...

Re: Bus Wars: The battles are being won.

Honestly though, people who try to push their religious beliefs (or lack thereof), through advertisements or otherwise, honestly disgust me. "A lack thereof" is the default human position towards religous beliefs. One has to be taught/learn their local, socially, accepted religion. I'd say the burd...

Re: Bus Wars: The battles are being won.

fuck them again. luckily things like that doesn't happen in good old germany. Can I ask why something like these bus ads wouldn't happen in Germany? Doesn't your country have several negative past experiences, with religiously motivated actions that caused pain and suffering? I think it comes down ...

Bus Wars: The battles are being won.

The principal slogan – "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life" – can already be seen on four London bus routes, and now 200 bendy buses in London and 600 across the country are to carry the advert after a fundraising drive raised more than £140,000, exceedi...

Man carrying assault weapon attends Obama protest

Hmmm, people carrying automatic weapons outside of an Obama event, not even that a$$hat George W. got that, but he was pro firearm rights... Gun-rights advocates say they're exercising their constitutional right to bear arms and protest, while those who argue for more gun control say it could be a d...

According to their world view only men and women can be attracted to one another and anything else is a mental disorder (SSAD - Same Sex Attraction Disorder). Via the story link: Though all mainstream health and mental health organizations concluded years ago that homosexuality is not a mental diso...

International Blasphemy Day is September 30, 2009

What is Blasphemy Day? International Blasphemy Day is not just a day. It is a movement to dismantle the wall which exists between religion and criticism. The primary focus of the Blasphemy Day movement and indeed this website is not to debate the existence of any gods or deities (there is an abunda...

Programs to change gays to straights don't work, report says

(CNN) -- The American Psychological Association concluded Wednesday that there is little evidence that efforts to change a person's sexual orientation from gay or lesbian to heterosexual are effective. http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/HEALTH/08/05/gay.to.straight/art.rainbow.flag.gi.jpg The report...

Re: Command & Conquer?

Wow, thanks for the info.

BTW - I mistakenly said the Red Alert source was released. It seems it was just freewared.

* The link wont work for me. This happens a lot with DcEmu as the site wont load 60 percent of the time. Can someone give me the direct (or alternative) link to the download?

Command & Conquer?

I know that a few months back, something was posted over at DcEmu about a preliminary port being done for the DC. Did anything actually pan out on that? If you look at the Wikipedia pages on Command & Conquer, and the Red Alert franchise game in the series, both have had their codes open-sourced: ht...

Re: Ireland masters time travel, leaps back to Middle Ages

Since when did criticizing fiction become a problem? Better go out and tell all those book and movie columnists/reviewers... If I can mock Thor, and his asgardian buddies, I can mock the "one" true sky fairy. If I can state that the mortal son of Zeus (Heracles) didn't exist, then I can say JC didn'...

Judge removes ban against man's kids meeting his gay friends

Georgia's top court has tossed out a judge's order that banned children in a divorce case from having any contact with gays or lesbians who are linked to the children's father. -Story Link- Kinda surprised that this sort of thing can happen in the first place, let alone get tossed out. Good thing i...
