Re: Took pics and made an OC diagram

I have. But, unless you to what I did (usd direct Nexus -> PC saving), or one o' them VMU mods, save corruption thresholds become unacceptable.

Re: Making a BBA?

Here are a couple of USB modules made by a gentleman I cannot remember who. Serial USB http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/Morph777/SANY0076.jpg G2 Bus USB http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/Morph777/g2usb_pic.jpg First, I'd like to point out how DIFFICULT THOSE FREAKIN LOOK. Second, you have...

Re: Official DC Overclocking thread

Ok, sweet. I never used pin-4 anyways. I've been out of the loop a little while, working on a lot of PC stuff.

Re: Official DC Overclocking thread

Actually, the crystal oscillators that are known to work with this mod are 4-pin, and here's what you need to know:

Pin 1 - 40Mhz clock signal
Pin 2 - 5v voltage in
Pin 3 - ground
pin 4 - 12v voltage in? (cant remember ^___^)

Argh, crappy. I know Quake II had an option for PowerVR OpenGL mode, if that helps (port it backwards, I dunno).

Yeah, I asked the guy what he wanted for it, in all seriousness. He said a complete Naomi system with GD system and other stuff, if I remember correctly.

Heck, if I could get my mits on it, we'd have another unreleased game to play around with, not that b******t V.I.P.

True, but the SH4 was built upon the .25um process and was designed to run without even passive cooling. For reference, the .25um Pentium III 'katmai' hit 600Mhz. I realize they are different designs, but they both have pipelined superscalar FPU's, and I believe the SH4 also has the same number of g...

Just work with me here: I think the problem might be with the GDRom unit itself, not the whole DC. My first DC played pretty much every game fine, but when I got Unreal Tournament, it would NOT work. I tried just about everything, but it was a no-go. A year or so later, I got another DC, and it read...

I eBay, trade on a few websites, and have a couple of good game shops nearby. So I have a nice selection of consoles to choose from. However, rob if you ever find yourself with an open DC just sitting around, try listing the components. Heck, the machines you have successful overclocks on, tell us t...

Morphv2, what revision of dreamcast do you have? I assume it isn't a version 2 if you are hitting 270 MHz. I am actually using a Revision1. It's running with 8ns GPU/Sound RAM, and 10ns system RAM. The system RAM gets quite hot, so I put some super low-profile heatsinks on there. Just cheap ones. A...

I rate by front side bus speed, not the entire clockspeed. When I overclock the DC, like a computer, I am overclocking the whole bus, not just the CPU. Also, its a multiplier of 2. The clock signal is multiplied by 3 from the PLL (for the FSB), then further by 2 for the CPU. You'll have to show me h...

I've never even bothered. The Rev0 DC I just got is very promising. Heatpipe cooling, revised SH4, and 8ns memory across the board.

I generally just use Ebay myself. WE're talking you can get these things in BULK for like $10-$20. Also, prophet, I kinda jimmied myself a "switch" together. It's not completely variable, but you get the idea. It contains 3 oscillators (37Mhz, 40Mhz, 45Mhz) inside a cheapo Radio Shack housing, all s...

If someone can prodive me with a game/demo/THING with an FPS counter, I'll whip together a video. I can compare 200, 240, and 270. Preferrably something that lags like crap.

I need to put my Radeon 8500 AIW to SOME kind of use....
