After The Fall for Sega Dreamcast

Hi, The following comes from my blog : http://nalacreations.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/after-fall-for-sega-dreamcast.html I hope to have some further progress to speak of by the end of this week. Unfortunately I don't own an official jump pack, but it's great to see a new release. I look forward to trying this new build on my day off this week.

Thanks again for all of the time you put in to this, it's very much appreciated!

No. There's no chance of Sega going back in to the hardware business.

Not what i'd have envisioned a follow up to be like, but nice to see a Dreamcast related news topic on Kotaku.

Re: Makaqu 1.4 alpha

Excellent news. Thank you, Manoel. I'll be giving the Dreamcast binary a go as soon as possible! EDIT : I'm getting to a mod menu in which I can select a display resolution, but from here the game goes to a black screen for a couple of seconds before displaying the Dreamcast logo. I've tried every p...

Re: New Dreamcast SD Adapter on sale at Chinese website

BoneyCork; i'd also be interested in one! I've recently started playing about with the various ports of Quake again, and this would provide a better means of mod testing. If you could give me a rough idea of cost, including insured shipping to the UK (and a little extra for your trouble). I'd certai...

Re: Compiling Makaqu 1.3 with DC Dev Iso R4

Hi there, and welcome to the boards. It's great to hear of somebody working with the Makaqu source. As for an answer to your problem, i'd suggest sending an email to Manoel. Contact details for him are included in the readme for Makaqu. I can't remember anyone else having talked about compiling the ...

Re: Gravity Bone

Possible, but not likely. The assets could be converted for use, or easily re-created, but the gameplay code would have to be done from scratch. MakaQu is an engine port of Quake 1, which uses a custom language called QuakeC with which to define gameplay. Quake 2, which this game is based upon, has ...

Unfortunately, I was never able to make contact with Bero. I went ahead and made some compression tests using the soundless build, and hope to return to this project soon.

Thanks for the reply, Manoel. And thanks again for giving us Makaqu in the first place. It's a fantastic port that i'll never grow tired of playing with!

Best of luck with your finals at college.

Adding splitscreen to Makaqu?

I know this has been discussed somewhat before, but how much time and effort would it take to get two player splitscreen working in Makaqu? The engine is amazing, and not only would splitscreen make the engine pretty much feature complete, but I think it'd kick start interest in both the Dreamcast a...

Re: Quake 2 w/sound enabled?

Well, I found a working e-mail address for Bero and have sent him a message, but don't know if he still checks that inbox or not. His Quake 2 port runs full speed, and it is my understanding that the long load times and disabling of sound is due to RAM limitations. My time with the port would simply...
