So how well can UAE4ALL emulate the Amiga on DC?

I ask because I was left very disappointed by the PSP equivalent - PSPUAE - which often autoframeskipped nearly every game I threw at it at a rate of 8 or so, making for very jerky and near unplayable gameplay. Even when clocked at 333Mhz. I'm like, "why the hell is a handheld that's more powerful a...

Re: Lemmings ?Only request I have ever made:Old IBM PC game port

UAE4All is a fantastic emulator and should run the game perfectly. Link: http://chui.dcemu.co.uk/ Are you sure about it being excellent? PSPUAE - the PSP port of UAE4ALL - was dire at emulating nearly every game I threw at it at a decent rate, so I imagine it'd be just as problematic - if not worse...

Xbox struggles with it? I guess I shouldn't hold my breath for a PSP/GP2X port either in this case. =[

This is a section to suggest potential stuff to port to the Dreamcast, right? Well, there's this kick-arse arcade-style shooter from the mid 90's which went on to have a popular community, and just recently the Pascal source code for the game was given to some others to translate into a more suitabl...

Problems with Another World on Dreamcast

The semi-official one that is, not the RAW program. ;) 1) The game always, always seems to freeze as you enter the cave entrance (after jumping the spikes) - the next part never loads, which is worrying considering the whole game is supposedly loaded into RAM beforehand. I've not tested to see if th...

Re: Need help and advice on modification

Man, if I knew enough about coding to understand what cvars are and how they work, I'd try and get down on it already. =[ On another note, is it possible to use the DM maps pack (PAK4.PAK) with nxMakaqu by any chance? And I remember discussing ogg music with you before, and you saying it was a memor...

Re: Need help and advice on modification

Ah, slight update regarding one of my earlier questions - it appears I was using a Direct3D-based Quake executable originally, and the SV_StartSound error only pops up with Direct3D ports. All GL-based ports cope with footsteps and whatever without a problem. On another note though, after extensive ...

Re: Need help and advice on modification

Thanks for the advice. It appears quicktesting under DarkPlaces produces no problems. BTW, I decided to also change JM_Misc.qc to add 7 more qtracks (short ones still) - but it appears when testing under DarkPlaces, the same pieces of music play on all episodes, rather than allowing to mix randomly ...

Need help and advice on modification

I'm trying to make an MST3K-themed QuakeDC using the following things: 1) The contents of the DCEvo edition as a base =] 2) The MST3K sounds pack 3) The two MST3K soundtrack albums ("Clowns In The Sky" and "Clowns In The Sky II"). I've carefully replaced the sounds and console background in both PAK...

Re: BootDreams 1.0.3 (1.0.3a)

I don't know if it's just me here, but after upgrading BootDreams to 1.0.3a I keep having errors (I can't work out what kind, even from looking at the console window) relating to cdrecord (I've only tested burning an existing CDI so far). These errors never happen with 2.01a26 from 1.0.3 (which I ke...

Yeah, I am actually aware of more technically superior emulators out there, it's just I wanted to try out all the different kinds of emulators and see how they perform and that. The MAME problem wasn't necessarily with a MAME port as such, but with IMRTech's SGA releases. The problem with those howe...

Why is it so frustrating trying to get emus on DC to work?

(Yes, I did mean emulators, but the topic box wouldn't let me fit it all in, so..........) It's just I had spent ages this week building up a big assortment of goodies in one DreamInducer fronted disc, all with the various help of Selfboot Inducer and CDRecord (I'm good with the command line, y'see)...

Ah hang on, I needn't have worried after all. It's just that it needs extra time to auto-adjust itself before getting a picture - it doesn't bring one up straight away. Well with that solved, I just need to get audio output working now - while I could easily plug headphones in, I'd rather try and ge...

neoak: Yeah it does, I've tested it in the past with both a CRT monitor and my current PC LCD monitor without a problem. I'm just not getting it immediately with this HDTV for some reason. Lyris: Yeah, I did try PC mode too. Maybe I'll test it with the VGA cable for this PC at some point, and see if...

How do I get a DC VGA box to work with my HDTV?

It appears I have a problem getting a picture with my set-up as follows: - A chipped PAL Dreamcast (from Xmas 2000) - A Blaze DC VGA Box - A Goodmans 19" HDTV - A Nikkai 1.5m male-to-male 15-pin VGA Monitor connection cable (or "Analogue Monitor Lead" as it says on the packaging) I've made sure all ...

I might as well ask.....

What's with all the random decision to not host QuakeDC anymore (ConsoleVision appears to be behaving the same too)? Particularly as certain QuakeDC-related files (such as HexQuake) don't appear to be mirrored elsewhere! And yet I see a special edition DCEvolution collection release that seems okay ...
