Could you post a list of the games that FreeSCI-DC supports along with the required files for each games? That way I don't have to have all the unnecessary files taking up space. For a list of supported games, see the list at http://freesci.linuxgames.com . If I were you I'd just put all the files ...

I've done some extensive testing today and there are some bugs in the savegame code. I advice anyone who's using FreeSCI on Dreamcast right now, to backup your savegames often, if you can. There will probably be a new release soon which will hopefully resolve these issues.

Ohhhh ohhhhh! I have police and space quest!! My stepbro has leisure suit larry so I'll have to get that off him. You probably know this, but out of the series you mentioned, LSL2, LSL3, SQ3 and PQ2 can be played with FreeSCI. Ganksoft's SarienDC supports LSL1, SQ1, SQ2 and PQ1. Oh my, I'm so excit...

FreeSCI 0.3.4 has been released. I'd like to thank everyone who has tested 0.3.4rc1. Those who have already burned 0.3.4rc1 can skip 0.3.4 as the changes are minimal.

For more info, see this post: http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/viewto ... 054#229054

Thanks.

If you like I can make some hi-res screenshots for you. I think the best way to make screenshots is to just have them saved directly from video memory by the program itself. But if you want to post some screenshots, go ahead :) Another point, you are coming out of nothing with this release, so can ...

Do they know of your devving's? Will you be getting some credit from them on they're site? They've been very supportive and I've basically been a 'FreeSCI developer' since I started to work on the port. And everyone who has contributed on FreeSCI in any way is credited. ;) This might be a good time...

Re: FreeSCI Dreamcast release

Hey, this is great news! If it's playable, I might buy a keyboard just for this! Heh :). Keep in mind though that not all SCI games are currently supported. The FreeSCI website has a list of supported games: http://freesci.linuxgames.com Buying a keyboard is a good idea anyway, for other emulators/...

I've just added SQ3 v1.0 recognition to FreeSCI CVS in order to have it choose the right SCI revision to emulate. Could you check your SQ3 and report the version number? Look around for a text file in the SQ3 directory, possible filenames are 'version' and 'qafile'. I suspect you have v1.0 but it mi...

Re: Space Quest 3 bad title screen

When the Title screen that displays" Space Quest III" appears, all is well. But once the words "Pirates of Pestulon" appear, all I see are the red bloody "Pirates of Pestulon" and the rest of the screen is all White. EDIT: This only happens with an old version of SQ3 and this issue is not specific ...

Re: Virtual Keyboard support

I grew up on classic Sierra titles like these. Thank you so much for porting this to the DC. Thanks, it's very nice to hear that :). I really like the idea of adding a virtual on screen Keyboard interface to the DC version. I know it would take a long time to type anything, but would also make it e...

I though there was more mouse based game supported by SCI . There are many mouse-based SCI games, but they are all newer games and not yet supported. I don't know the Hoyle games at all, so maybe it will be usefull to add controller support :P just for these games :) Yes, this did cross my mind. I'...

It will be cool if the next release support the controller like in scummvm I still haven't taken the time to actually try scummvm on Dreamcast, so I don't know how it supports the controller. Anyway, the major difference is that scumm has only mouse-based adventures, and all the games that FreeSCI ...

Are there any other games to test other than the ones listed? I'm afraid not. Only SCI0 games are currently supported in FreeSCI. As can be read on the FreeSCI website, a start has been made to implement support for newer SCI games. However, it will probably be quite a while before the newer SCI ga...

FreeSCI Dreamcast release

Hi everyone, FreeSCI is an open-source Sierra SCI interpreter that has been around for a while. I've recently ported it to Dreamcast. Binaries and a cd image will be available through the official FreeSCI website ( http://freesci.linuxgames.com ) when FreeSCI 0.3.4 is released, which is scheduled fo...
