You can install cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com) if you want an unix-like environment in windows.
well according to him the ISO installs Cygwin but strips all standard Unix commands.

Possible to make a DC HDD?

Hello. I remember there being a rumor about the 250MB Zip Drive being used to be a DC HDD. Of course, this never came to fruition. I was wondering however if anyone made a kit or cable that actually allowed it to happen. If yes, does it seem feasible to mass produce? If no, what would be the difficu...

Code for PVR capabilities

I read articles and posts that say the PVR is capable of: Bump Mapping, Fog, Alpha-Bending (transparency), Mip Mapping (polygon-texture auto switch), Tri-Linear Filtering, Anti-Aliasing, Environment Mapping, and Specular Effect. Does KOS (any versions) have the code to utilize or invoke all of these...

How many DC web sites do we need? Really.

What I really really don't understand about the DC Scene in general is, why there are so many websites? Unless some dedicated people are going to go through every forum based website and compile all the information under one web address, I just don't see why a new site pops up every 3 or 4 weeks. It...

try just starting chankast normal and verify you can load the bios screen and navigate through it. check the options for input controls and try configuring it differently i guess. When I used to use dcdev i just called a bat file from my dreamcast.mak file in the all-after section. The bat file wou...

man.... i should have been more detailed. thank you both for replying though. right now, i'm using DCDev + Chankast on my (work) computer. supposedly DCDev compiles and makes an elf file then sends it to Chankast. unfortunately the .elf never updates and just runs the very first program i compiled. ...

What bugs me is we have the technology to turn those mountains into a rubble pile. I wonder why we don't.... Because we don't have the RIGHT to turn mountains --in other people's countries-- into rubble. We just can't (even though it doesn't seem like it) go into another country and blast it to hel...

PVR for n00bs .....ask here

I'm not too versed in 3D anything, so forgive for asking randomly basic and/or stupid questions. for the pvr_vert_t vert data type, what does the vert.u and vert.v do exactly. i read the header file (great comments by the way) but was still unclear by "coordinates for texture". It isn't the texture ...

now i'm going to go offtopic on my topic temporarily. since you mentioned that 138, i wonder about porting OGL to the DC/KOS. It seems that PowerVR had a OGL implementation that worked with their drivers and the new PVR they are making for mobile will use OGL ES as well. shouldn't this mean that we ...
