fack, it's amazing what you can learn in 30 minutes. Thanks for the quick response Zull but it seems that I need to get my ass out of the newb cart. My motherboard is apparently a POS and only supports 100/133/166 FSB. Wow, I'm great. Honestly, I didn't even consider the FSB on the motherboard to b...

Any one here overclock? You might find this interesting.

I have been reading some threads over at http://hardforum.com and that's how I found out about the mobile Athlon XPs. I figured, heck, it's only about $90 so i ordered one from newegg.com. I ordered the 2500+ model and installed it. Very nice chip. I think this screenshot says it all. ( sorry for th...

I would use FreeBSD or OpenBSD myself, but I also like mandrake. The way I feel though is that distros that are out to make money, such as ones that sell boxed sets, are just going to lead us down the same road. Pretty soon, it will just be another windows, except just stolen from a community instea...

:yahaha: redhat 9

that is by far the slowest OS ever... I mean, if you're really enough of a n00b to need a pretty GUI and a box of graphical config tools there are better distros like Mandrake or SuSE. Personally I wouldnt use anything but BSD or debian.

I modded my N64 by putting in a blue LED instead of the red one, painted it flat silvery-grey and put in a couple 60 mm fans. I'd post pictures if my brother ever gives it back...

twice a day? don't you have anything to do? go and find a hobby, like umm... go re-write the freeBSD bootloader in C instead of Forth. or get a car and autocross it. or start a band. or get a job. ( like an 8 to 6 ). or go to arcades and get beaten at DDR by nine-year-old asian children. you should ...

I've always like Apples for their software, but I have to admit that their hardware lately has been very crappy. I mean, who would spend $2000 for a stand alone machine with DDR 333 and a Geforce FX 5200? You could build an Athlon 64 system with a Geforce FX 5900 Ultra 256 MB and 1 GB of DDR 400 RAM...

I dont think you guys are understanding me. I'm not setting up NAT ON the PC, I'm setting it up FOR the PC. And, just to play online the game apparently needs to listen to a port. I'm also not talking about playing the games over the LAN, I'm talking about playing them online.

Online Gaming for the Routerly disabled

I think I handy thing for people like me who have evil routers, would be a compilation of the ports used by popular online games like counter-strike UT (2k3). So that people can set up NAT on their gaming comp. I would like to start off the list by saying that I have no frucking clue and that's why ...

well, it does look kinda funny, but it would be very difficult to find another case that it would fit in because the unit takes up a massive amount of space. about the look, I think it looks like a prop from farscape... :P not quite sure yet if that's a good thing or not... if you wanna buy the unit...

OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, usually OEM means that you need to buy it with other hardware, it has something to do with how people like dell get huge discounts on hardware and software. I got windows XP home for $92 with the OEM dealie. Personally I dont care what it means if I get $10...
