Hmmm... what about buffer adjustments in your ripping software? Are you using a sound card, or integrated audio? I've had this happen. I believe there's a program that let's you make authentic bit-for-bit digital copies of sound files. That could help. I don't recall the name, but it should be easy ...

Well, it must be a shoe fetish... But seriously, you can tell a lot about a man by looking at his shoes. And his belt. A worn-out belt looks really bad, and makes you look bad. I suspect the guy who drew up the dress code there is an ex-military dude. I suggest you invest in a few pairs of good, lea...

Good points, but imagine if the Mac clones were still being produced: Apple would lose its real edge: product design. Because that's really all they have right now. I remember the days when Macs were machines used for "serious" work. Someone saw you using one, and they'd think you were a musician, a...

Well, it does look nice, and all the glass effects can be really cool. Having a decent GPU helps a lot regarding speed and stability. But the new features aren't really all that hot for the common user. Some might even go unnoticed. And the constant checking (Do you really want to do this?) could be...

Agreed, but I read about Firefox fanboys saying how "M$ just ripped off Firefox!!! teh evil!!!" when referring to IE7, and that's just wrong. I remember when I tried Firefox, and people were creaming their pants over features that Opera had had for years, and I thought: "What's the big deal?" And I ...

It sure is annoying. Every once in a while, firefox will wipe out ALL my bookmarks. I have to save them constantly. And it always crashes when opening PDF files. Always. And some sites don't work at all. Yeah, I know I could download some whatchamacallit-thingamabob extension to make it work. But ot...

My sister, my brother-in-law and my mom have gone through it. They swear by it, and haven't had any problems. However, you must remember: you'll never regain 20/20 sight. But it'll improve a lot, to the point that you won't need glasses, maybe except for reading or stuff like that. It's specially go...

Well, I must say those CeleronM's are pretty nice. I was looking for a used hig-end laptop, and found a monstruous 17" Toshiba, with a 2.8 Ghz. P4. It was a good deal, but then I found out the DVD burner wouldn't work. Oh, and the battery lasted 1:15 hours. I said "no, thanks", and instead got a new...

I never could get into Rome. I was pumped up about it, since it looked a bit like Gladiator (the movie)... But when I watched it, it felt a bit too much like a soap opera to me. And some of the production values didn't really look that amazing. Also, being an HBO series, it lacked enough T&A and som...

Yeah, most likely it's a bad hard drive, or, at best, a severely fragmented drive. Try some defragmenting first, and see if it works. I once had a drive freezing up on me, and it was diagnosed as "defective". Actually it was just badly fragmented. I defragged, filled it with "zeroes", and it's been ...

Agreed, System 9 through 7 were notorious for memory crashes. It could get infuriating. As long as you don't ask too much from it, it should work fine. But repairing an older Mac is a tough job, due to weird, non-standard hardware that even changes between same-model Macs. I pretty much had to trash...
