Yeah, with a 3 Ghz P4 and a 6600GT, I think you'll be surprised at how smooth Vista will run. You'd benefit a lot from one more Gb of RAM, however. I tried it with a 3500+ Athlon64 1 Gb RAM, and a 7600GS, and it was pretty responsive and smooth. It actually gets faster with time, wchich was pretty n...

Good point, but the web development community isn't the top priority in MS's nefarious plans for world domination. They just want to stop catching heat from common users for getting their homepage replaced with a porn site. To that extent, IE7 is an improvement. In my experience, common users don't ...

Well, yes, the Microsoft hatin' thing is in full effect... fo' real G... But it is getting old. IE 7 is a very decent product. Sure, it took too long to arrive, but it works well, and it adds features that Firefox made popular, but didn't invent, quite contrary to popular belief. Opera, for example,...

That's smart, they should promote Vista by including some free RAM with it, or give it away with the purchase of a good video card. That way, people won't be put off by the somewhat high hardware requirements. A lot of people will balk at the notion of adding a video card to their PC just to get the...

Most HP cartridges are a good value. They have a large capacity, and actually last a while. Some Lexmark printers, on the other hand, are quite nasty. Some go through a cartridge in a WEEK. I'm not kidding. Plus with HP cartridges, you have a lot of refill potential, with a new printhead in every ne...

It shouldn't be that hard finding a 78 rpm capable turntable. Hell, I have one, from a 70s Fisher all-in-one stereo. The classic Technics turntables should have that speed, at least the ones I've used do. Remember that shellac discs are quite delicate, so never use record-cleaning fluid, or alcohol ...

Some weeks ago, I read that MS had reconsidered, and left out that "feature", after public outcry from "enthusiast" hardware sites. It seemed legit, since they had a quote from a MS spokesperson. They realized that gamers and diy'ers change hardware frequently, and that they buy the OS's premium ver...

Well, remember that Intel's new Core technology is based on those PIIIs... they're nothing to sneeze at, when Windows XP came out, it ran better on those processors than on the slightly crappy first Pentium 4s. And a Geforce 6200 is still slightly ahead of most integrated GPUs on motherboards, and t...

I won't get an Iphone, mainly because I can't afford it, :D but I really want Apple to succeed on this. It would be sweet vindication for the whole Newton deal, and all the people who worked hard on it, even if they're not at Apple anymore. And I want to see Steve Jobs eat his words, like when he sa...

Some women do get freaked out by a foreskin, and some don't. I think a little variety doesn't hurt. Some women tell horror stories about uncircumcised dudes and "the horrible smell" of smegma. Actual quote. Some women think a foreskin is really cute, since it looks like a "small elephant's trunk". A...

Seems like Brazilians are worried by the cultural stereotypes that this video might reinforce. Namely:"Brazil is nothing but lazy people on the beach, and a lot of thongs... a lot". Or that they're sex addicts, and can't even wait to get a room. I sympathize with their concerns. I've been there a fe...

Yes, that could be the IPhone's Achilles heel. And it's got some pretty stiff competition out there. The Motorola "Q" for example. Sweet phone. Or a Treo. And yes, Blackberries. They even have a name just as silly, "Blackberry" this ain't gonna be pretty... Plus, those weird Nokias are pretty high o...

Well, the brilliant solution to the art issue were those funky "long" cardboard boxes for CDs. I still have a few around. The coolest was Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" it's embossed, and it looks really cool. They lasted quite a few years, I even have a mint, shrink-wrapped copy of MC Hammer's "2Leg...
