Topic: ? How can i make the LEDs work?

Each LED needs to have the right polarization, and needs some voltage to work, it depens on the LED, but common values are 1,5~1,8V. To make the LEDs work without burning them a resistor is put in series with the LED to limit the voltage that fall in the LED and the current that goes through the LED...

Even the impolute Soulcalibur suffers from that mipmapping artifact, it's easily visible in the ground of the stages.

The fail looks like your DC is having problems to read some sectors of the disc. If it is not cracked/scratched maybe you should try to boot it with other DC to get sure of what is really not working (it could be your GD-ROM reader or the disc).

Doesn't you need a line simulator to do that trick with most modems?

I use a BLAZE VGA box that has VGA, COMPOSITE and S-VHS outputs (selectable with a switch) and also two jack outputs for sound. I'm pretty happy with it, as it can give you the highest quality you can get with a monitor (using VGA output) and the highest quality you can get with a TV (using S-VHS ou...

Yes you're right, if you want exact matching baud rates you could use an USB uC and hook a standard Uart clocked at 25Mhz on it. Or maybe use some fast uC like a scenix to emulate one or find a uC that's got an embedded uart that can be clocked fast enough. You'll have to write device drivers thoug...

Hum, also one thing... low res 2D fighters look WORSE with and VGA Box than with a TV. Try SF3 or SFA3 and you'll learn what the word PIXEL means. Others like MvC2, CvS1 Pro & CvS2 have high res backgrounds but low res characters so backgrounds look WAY better with a VGA box but characters look WAY ...

I haven't CvS 1, but I have CvS Pro and it works great with my VGA box! Are you sure it can't be tricked to work?

I've been looking to the SH4 manual (thanks Axlen for pointing me to it) and I think I now know how to calculate the baudrates. The max baudrate for Asynchronous mode is with n=0 (CKS1=0, CKS0=0) and N=1:
50.000.000/(64*0,5*1) = 1.562.500 bps

For 500Kbps I suppose you use n=0 and N = 3 (520833 bps).

Re: Sigh...

You can get the FTDI chips from Parallax . The bauds that the DC serial port supports are based on a 50Mhz clock. The formulas for determining the baud are in the hardware manual for the processor. You can probably get links to those resources off the Boob website and from Marcus's site as well. Th...

Re: Sigh...

I've decided to stop all coders cable development. No excuses, no explanation. Period. Sorry to hear that... Anyway you have made a great work and you deserve to rest. I was thinking on making a new design on my own, but I don't know what are the DC serial bus standard speeds. Can anybody tell me o...

For extremely simple things, you can also use macros instead of functions. Most programmers today frown on the use of using macros in working/executable code. Leave macros for configuration. I think simple macros are still pretty useful when coding for systems with limited resources (like DC, conso...

Is there any speed difference between calling a function and using the code "directly"? Using the code "directly" is faster, but there's a keyword -inline- you can use before a funcion declaration for the compiler to put the code of the function "directly" where the call is, and also when you enabl...
