Did I ever post this?

Did I ever post this Burger Time clone I'd been working on?

It is by no means finished - but tell me what you think..

Re: SmashGP coming to dc!

Could be the 1st time we have a really fun 4 player homebrew in our hands. SmashDC is 4 players... ;) As is Warlord, and the aforementioned Cool Herders. I also could have sworn that there was a 4-player Asteroids-type game somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment. The closest I've found is Spa...

The ideal solution would be to store the display list in a main memory buffer somewhere, then get on with the next frame. When a vblank interrupt is triggered (hence the PVR is ready for another frame) we could send the complete display list over to the PVR using DMA. We'd have to be careful, becau...

The emulator itself is more than fast enough to run at full speed. However, when displaying a frame, the Dreamcast's hardware requires that we wait around for it to be ready for us to start sending data. That means that, at the end of each frame, we need to wait until the graphics hardware is ready...

Is there an snd_init() in your code somewhere? This could be your problem.

I'm glad to see you're ripping that SDL stuff out - doesn't do to have all that overhead!

Any news on GFX & SOUND?

I'm making progress on the gameplay - added a new style of play 'joggword' - kind of like a crossword/wordsearch.

I would like to make some more progress on the look and feel of the game - which needs some of the gfx/sound stuff.

Pixelated topdown pics of controller & DC

I am looking for some pixelated pics of a controller and a DC - I saw some a while ago that looked just the part, but I want to get hold of them to use them in Joggle - anyone got any they can let me have?

It's for the player select screen...

warmtoe- can we preview your build with the better sound? Sorry - not at the moment - This is BA's baby, and he it's up to him to release a preview or not - the 'better' sound is not necessarily better - it is just different, with different z80 emulation - The question above was because I sent BA w...

As for the sound... I really hate doing sound stream programming. I'm also not very good at it. One may have something to do with the other, although I'm not sure if I hate it because I suck at it, or if I suck at it because I don't like doing it... There's not really anything much better than the ...

i'll be grabbing a screamtracker compatible tracker sometime this weekend. i assume you rather have module-music because it easily loopable and have code libraries to handle it fairly easy. *cracks fingers* - haven't touched a tracker for music making since 1999 ;) There are several reasons why sou...

Doesn't sound lika a "but, this idea" idea - not sure it's implementable - but I'll consider it as another way to play the game.... I was thinking of (may have actually mentioned it) having collaborative rounds - where the team as a whole has to get over a certain target - an 'all or nothing' sort o...

Just to whet your appetite some more:- Thoughts I have about gameplay: There will be collaborative rounds as well as competetive rounds, where the 'team' has to reach some goal - thus making people think about how they screw up others. There will be all kinds of hidden bonuses, for example, for gett...

Since the colors of the tiles do not correlate to the letters, it would be cool to have bonuses for all one color or all different colors or something. that's a great idea actually.... to bad i'm not the one developing the game ;) Thankfully I am the one developing it - and I like the idea too, bon...

do the different colored tiles mean anything, or is it just for looks? also, i think the tiles look fine IMNSHO as for a backdrop - i think a dim colored abstract-shapes background would be nice, maybe with a couple layers scrolling over each other, or something like that. could have mutiple that w...

I've found out that my multi-threaded loader (!) doesn't actually work on a DC - it works well in Chankast! How annoying is that ? I have fixed it, now everything works on a DC too...
