Ah well - I thought it was worth a shot!!!!

Actually I thought the exposure / experience would be worthwhile for some of the great artists whose work I saw.

For the uninitiated, I'm warmtoe

Playing >64k samples

I am having some trouble playing a sample that is >64k in length. I'm using some code that looks a lot like (read almost directly copied from) snd_sfxmgr.c in KOS - and one of the things I noticed is that it's got a line in there that says 'if size>65535 size=65534' which, I can see, would limit it ...

OK - I hear what you're saying about the simplicity of the graphics. I hear it, but I disagree (!). Personally I don't like 3D games - I think it's my age! You know the main reason for writing this is that I own an Arcade machine into which I've plugged the DC, and I want to play robotron at somethi...

Can you be more specific - feedback is a good thing when it's constructive and qualified. I am pleased with what's there so far, so if you can point out what needs to be changed I'd appreciate it.

May Day Bank Holiday Teaser

Well, I've been working on something new - you never know, maybe I will get this one finished :D http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ian_edwards/ice88/dcrt_teaser.zip If you have feedback I'd like to hear it - there are graphical problems with this PC based demo (z-ordering problem) and no sound - rest ass...

Vortexx - is this lightgun driver based on the code I originally did? I would like to re-introduce the lightgun driver back into KOS for trigger happy - so if you can release the source for it that would be great. I think the key problem with lightgun games was th lack of a screen flash - I take it ...

Mamed supports some good games still not emulated in Wowpack, for example Bomb jack and Bomb jack isn't on the Wow pack? Really?? That's one of my favourites too - I was looking at getting it full speed - and it's pretty much there - wasn't a decent bomb jack released already? If not, I'll stick th...

Twiddled Textures

I posted this over at consolevision because I wanted to catch Dan Potter on it - but can anyone else help with this? I am trying to get my head around twiddled textures - the reason being that I am trying to rewrite MAME to use a paletted texture and they need to be twiddled. To the crux of the matt...

Are you using the default KOS_INIT_FLAGS?

You need to ensure that it's using pre-emptive threading - that could well be the problem, also, everything might be serialised through the printf.

VOTE!!!!!

I saw an update on the Giana return site that they will ONLY release the version of the game with the winning vote... so, unless you go and vote for DC, it won't appear on the DC...

It moved me to vote!!!

I notice you're using irq_enable but you don't have INIT_IRQ in your KOS_INIT_FLAGS - INIT_DEFAULT == INIT_IRQ | INIT_THD_PREEMPT

Don't know if that's the problem - and when you say you lose control over all input, you mean the controlLERS don't work?

Yes - I can see that it's because I'm using a BAUD rate of 115200 - the new dbgio.c has a comment about it not working with 115200!

thanks!

Using KOS sub-version 113, cannot execute anything - help?!

I was trying to bring my KOS version up to the latest level, I've never used subversion before - but it seemed to work OK - and I got to the latest incremental release (113 at time of writing) - the problems I am now seeing are: a) the .ELF files being produced are waaaay bigger than they ever used ...
