Mooooo... see what a great team we make when we all work together? I don't mean to pretend for a minute that my contribution to GPDC was anything i...

Compiling c68k, I get tonnes of these:

warning: unused variable 'dst' or 'src'

I haven't tried tinkering - but would removing these work? I think it would reduce the size and so increase the speed...

Ian Micheal wrote:Strange with the c68k in and compiled neogeo cd does not run at all. So far. Gensis plus was allways fast strange people are just noticing now.
Doesn't this imply that in NeoGeo CD the bottleneck is *not* the CPU core - but something else?

Don't forget - there is still the render to store-queue change which should bring some speedup (did you try that yet?). I've changed my Makefile to use -Os for everything and -O2 for Z80 and m68k (per Ian's suggestion) - not sure yet if it made a difference, but it means I can fiddle with each bit s...

BA - I have a very similar setup to you but I'm on WinXP not Linux - if you include the pre-compiled c68k then I can always rebuild it - if you don't and I can't - I'll be screwed. So, if poss, leave the precompiled version there, I can then have a go at rebuilding it aswell. OK? If you prefer, you ...

Super cool - I have cut speud's changes over to my codebase - just about to test that - I need that C68K stuff BA!!!!!

This is exciting.

For some reason, I couldn't get Warmtoe's tweaked xrender.c working, but everything else works. Just played Rocket Knight Adventures with sound enabled... wow. The sound test and title screens work flawlessly, and the game only stutters a little. I think adding C68k would make it work completely fl...

Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped to tonight - but I did manage to split the menu out to menu.c / menu.h - improved the controls in the menu (repeat) - re-introduced a couple of speedups that were not there - and some other stuff. The result is actually pretty damned good! Anyway - this applies a...

...Modifying it to use store queues is probably the next step. That way, it'll be twiddling to an internal buffer (in the CPU, so it should be nice and fast) and then sending it over to VRAM while we're busy twiddling the next one. Yes - pretty slick that'll be I reckon, you really have cut down th...

BA - I've tried fiddling-with-the-twiddling code before - I cannot think of a more efficient way to twiddle the data better... I did wonder about twiddling it to a buffer in main memory and then uploading the entire buffer to a texture in pvr-memory via DMA - some of the problem is going to be that ...

OK... what the hey - I stuck the menu on it and produced an elf.

Don't know what you need to do to selfboot / SBI it... but here is a mega-early-pre-pre-alpha version:

Instructions for the menu are in the text above.

Sure - I'll do a bin for a preview release - I won't base it on my source level though - BA, if you're going to put the menu on the front, I'll wait for your next source output. Again - the only difference I can think of is the KOS_CFLAGS... What do you all have? Mine is.... KOS_CFLAGS='-O3 -fomit-f...

In fact... here is some updated source... dig away... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ian_edwards/ice88/gpdc-pvr-warmtoe.zip I renamed the snd_stream functions too, to avoid clashes with the snd_stream within KOS itself, anyway, if you can get anything useful from this lot, do - it expects a sonic.zip ...

This is really starting to look good - I have it all compiling with the latest SVN version of KOS. The main changes are in the xrender loops not re-getting the vertex structure, in the controller code, instead of mapping the CONT_ values to the pad values, I changed the pad values to match the CONT_...

Should the sound streaming be working? I have quite a late kos-svn version and snd_stream functions have all changed to take a sound stream handle - I converted them all over, but it's still not working.

Does sound work?

Yeah - OK - it works in Chankast - I'm using the 'run as a bin' version and putting my 1 rom into a romdisk... Right, now to fiddle. First off, in xrender_draw_tile - I you only call pvr_dr_target once, not for each time you submit a vertex - and you don't then have to set all the values for each ve...

I have it building - but chankast isn't doing anything with it, should I see something on screen - what am I missing here?
