Ralph Baer invented the first light gun home video game in 1967, thought it did come to market until years later. In the early games you could cheat by aiming the gun at a light bulb so the photosensor would always see a bright light. The NES used some technqiues to reduce cheating like that but the...

Well I'm just theorizing, but you might be able to patch a zapper in a similar fashion to the light phaser hack as above and map the light sensor to the input of another button. Then you'd need an emulator with a mode that lets you use that button as the indicator that the sensor has seen light. The...

Okay, a little more info: The simple explanation is: Neither Smeg nor SMS Plus are written to check input from the controller port to determine whether the gun sees light or not, so no amount of controller rewiring will change that. As for why SMS Plus can't just be patched to check the controller f...

No,no black square appears. The screen becomes completely white, and the game crashes. So u have to reset the system,in Master System case,or use Reset emulation option,in sms+ case. Hi, alb3530. Well, that's a clever idea but it won't pan out, unfortunately. I'll explain a little more about why that ...

A nice little walk from my home will get me to my destination, I would invite you to my place Heliophobe but its an already crowded place. Single apartment with my brother and my parents. Are you familiar with the area? Any good places to eat around there? I've been to enough convention centers to ...

how are you going? i'm assuming he'll enter through the door  i meant his connection to the industry. they don't just hand out tickets. Well it's not too hard to fudge your way in, but if you're willing to pay for the expo pass they'll let anyone in. Me, I could have gotten in for free (no I'm...

I can explain why if anyone's curious One sample per scanline, 262 scanlines per frame, 60 frames a second. 262 * 60 = 15720. That's actually a neat idea. Certainly saves on doing any funky calculations. Might be worth using that for the DAC emulation in Genesis Plus - it'd certainly save some effo...

I'm just wondering out loud, really. The sampling rate is the number of times a second that the audio stream is updated. Audio CD's update 44100 time per second, which is also Smeg's sampling rating. 22050 is considered adequate for speech recordings. SMSPlus for DC is in between - 31440. That numbe...

Wow, I never thought the 2600 was so difficult to emulate. I just kinda thought the author or the person who ported it to DC lost interest before it was completed. Mind you I don't think it's any more difficult to port a working 2600 emulator, except that it might be more CPU intensive than you'd t...

Is a port to xbox possible? I think it could be possible. But i decided to finish the dremcast version first, before thinking about ports. Cool, it's a nice looking 2d game, and the xbox supports higher resolutions then the dreamcast whould looking really sharp on xbox. Though it's not of much use ...

The 2600 is better emulated on the DC than the Colecovision, though. Which is a shame since the Coleco should be an easy job to emulate perfectly. And it's such a great system. ...word is bondage... What's missing with the ColecoVision? I never really used a ColecoVision so I can't really tell by u...

Actually, I still think SMEG is a better emulator. It's something very ephemeral and maybe only my imagination, but SMEG seems to do a better job of capturing exactly the way that the SMS's graphics were drawn and the sprites were moved, etc. It's in these very fine details that no emulator will ev...

Plain files, because i want to do a CD with only SMS/GG games. The emu runs, but it doesn't detect roms in directories. when i change disc, it's the same. Are you using the included ip.bin or another one? I remember a problem I once had trying to using a certain IP.BIN which would let the emulator ...
